The True Heiress: Legend Mode novel Chapter 135

Hearing that, Jeremy reflexively glanced at Morgan's group.

Just as he expected, their expressions hadn't changed at all. No matter where they were sitting, their gazes uniformly snapped to Matilda.

There was no fear in their eyes.

Only contemptuous scrutiny.

They were boundlessly arrogant.

They gave zero respect to the elderly, white-haired Matilda, yet were warm and polite to the much younger Mrs. Sherwood.

Clearly, they aligned completely with whoever Juno favored.

If he could see it, Matilda naturally could too, and her expression darkened even further.

Rhiannon patted her grandmother's back and whispered, "Please don't get angry, Grandma."

Matilda shot Juno a glare. Even she knew better than to make her own family lose face in front of outsiders on an occasion like this.

The waitstaff served the dishes with methodical precision. Given the number of VIPs present, they couldn't afford a single mistake.

The aura radiating from these powerful figures was genuinely terrifying.

It made people instinctively hold their breath.

Juno was sitting with Morgan's group.

Morgan tilted his head toward her. "Did I do okay today?"

Tristan glanced over. Morgan practically had 'praise me' written across his forehead.

Looking at Juno's expression, wasn't he basically asking to get chewed out?

Juno picked up a bite of food, her delicate face completely devoid of expression, projecting a cynical ease. "Thanks to you guys, I'm public enemy number one."

They were basically one step away from broadcasting to the world that she was Juno of Blackwood City.

Morgan used serving silverware to place food on Juno's plate. "I just hated seeing you get stifled here."

In the past, no one would have ever dared to disrespect her.

Morgan paused and asked, "Are you not happy? It's your birthday."

An elder retracted his gaze from Juno's table and muttered to his friend, "It's unbelievable that someone as young as Juno knows those people from Blackwood City."

Hearing the two elders talking, Sebastian subtly tuned in.

"Speaking of Blackwood City, it seems everyone who showed up today belongs to the Elder Faction of the Obsidian Court—Juno's lineage."

At that name, both the speaker and the listener paused.

Juno?

The elder lightly tapped Sebastian. "What was your sister's name again?"

"Juno," Sebastian answered honestly.

A terrifying thought took root.

Could the girl sitting over there actually be that Juno?

Sebastian said, "My sister grew up in the countryside. She doesn't have the kind of power to cover the sky with one hand. You just mentioned the Elder Faction—does that mean there's another faction?"
