The True Heiress: Legend Mode novel Chapter 245

She launched forward, driving a vicious kick into the man’s chest, sending him crashing backward into the leather sofa.

She stood protectively over Maia.

The surrounding rich brats immediately surged forward, all shouting the same thing.

"Mr. Lytton! Are you okay?!"

"Are you hurt?! Get a doctor!"

That was when Juno realized the man she just kicked was Rocco Lytton.

Maia desperately shoved at her sister. "Get out of here!"

Her own life was already ruined; she couldn't drag her little sister down with her.

Juno was supposed to have a bright, carefree future.

The men in this room were absolute predators. Once they set their sights on someone, it never ended well.

But Juno refused to budge. Maia was crying frantically. "Why won't you listen?! Just run!"

Rocco roared furiously from the couch, "I'd like to see anyone try to leave here tonight!"

Kick him and just walk away? Not a chance!

Her heart turning to ash, Maia threw away all her dignity. She crawled forward on her knees and grabbed the edge of Rocco’s pants. "My sister doesn't know any better. Please, be the bigger person and let her go."

Juno suddenly froze, squatting in place.

A suffocating wave of helplessness washed over her entire body.

If she fought back now, her sister's humiliation would be for nothing.

She had to think about the consequences. She was no longer the reckless kid who could do whatever she wanted, knowing her sister would bail her out.

Rocco looked at Maia like she was a piece of trash, kicking her away in disgust. "I'm in a bad mood, and nobody is leaving. Since you're both here, let's play a game."

One of the cronies chimed in eagerly, "Bring out the bottles!"

If there was one thing a club had in abundance, it was alcohol.

A line of servers quickly filed in, carrying trays of liquor.

They completely covered the table with bottles. As they left, a few of the staff shot sympathetic glances at the two girls.

These trust fund kids were sick.

Everyone took their seats, clearing a space in the center for the sisters.

Rocco delivered their sentence with a casual smirk. "Drink. Finish all of it, and I'll let you both walk."

Juno glanced at Maia. "Stay right there."

He scooped her up effortlessly.

Miles rushed in behind him, helping Maia to her feet and draping a jacket over her shoulders before guiding her toward the door.

Maia couldn't stop looking back, terrified for her sister.

"My boss will handle it," Miles said in a low voice. "She'll be perfectly fine."

Though her heart was pounding, Maia allowed herself to be escorted out.

Rocco’s vision swam, but the moment he regained his balance, he sprang up furiously. "You're the bastard from the Yates family! Aren't you afraid I'll have you killed?!"

Holding Juno gently, her head resting against his shoulder, Chuck walked out without even giving him a backward glance. "Get in line."

Juno slept terribly. When she finally woke up, her whole body felt like lead, and the room was spinning violently. Forcing her eyes open, she realized she was in a small, impeccably neat studio apartment.

Where was her sister?

Panic surging, she threw off the blanket and tried to get out of bed, but her legs instantly buckled, and she collapsed onto her knees.

Just then, Chuck walked in.

He was holding a glass of sweetened tea, casually dressed in a black button-down shirt with the sleeves rolled up.

Seeing her crumpled on the floor, he set the glass down on a nearby desk, slid his arms under hers, and lifted her back onto the bed like she weighed nothing.
