The True Heiress: Legend Mode novel Chapter 246

He turned around and handed her the glass. "Your sister is fine. Drink this."

He knew exactly what she was panicking about.

Hearing that Maia was safe, Juno finally let out a long breath and brought the glass to her lips.

In seconds, it was completely empty.

"I don't know who's trying to ruin her."

Chuck took the empty glass and set it aside. "It's not about ruining Maia. It's the Talbot family trying to crush the Lytton family."

He saw the entire board clearly.

Maia just happened to be tangled up with Rocco Lytton.

To them, her sister was nothing more than a pawn in a corporate war.

And pawns didn't get a say in the games played by billionaires.

They were completely out of their league.

No matter how disastrous Maia's situation became, Juno still had to attend school.

Maia had given her a strict ultimatum.

"If you stop going to class, I'll never speak to you again."

With her backpack slung over one shoulder, Juno walked into the classroom. The loud chatter instantly died down.

Everyone stared at her with varying degrees of judgment.

Mandy immediately stood up and walked over. "Why are you so late? You almost missed the bell. Look, I'm being the bigger person here—I forgive you for ditching me without saying goodbye yesterday."

Juno ignored her, her cold gaze sweeping over the rest of the room.

Mandy pulled her toward her desk. "What are you staring at? It's not like you've never seen them before."

Renee strolled in from the hallway. "Oh my? I heard you actually showed up today, and I just had to see it for myself."

Her tone dripped with fake disbelief as she covered her mouth in mock shock. "With a scandal like that, how do you even have the nerve to show your face?"

He wouldn't be much of an educator if he let this slide!

"Hey! Juno, what do you think you're doing?! Assaulting a classmate right in front of me?!"

When Juno didn't let go and kept dragging the girl toward the hall, the teacher physically blocked her path. "I'm talking to you! Are you deaf?! I let it go yesterday when you ran out without permission! You're just a student! What kind of 'emergency' could you possibly have?!"

Renee let out a choked laugh. "She was busy handling her sister's business."

The teacher paused, suddenly remembering the massive scandal dominating the news. Seeing Juno acting so blatantly disrespectful, he lost his temper entirely. "Enough! Let her go! Students like you are a disgrace! Maia worked so hard to pay for your tuition just so you could come here and violently bully your peers?!"

"She's a celebrity, making money is easy for her! How is it hard work? Isn't that the fastest way to get rich? Hahaha, right guys?"

"Well, there are faster ways, but we wouldn't know about those. I'm sure Juno does, though."

The entire class erupted into cruel laughter.

Realizing he was completely losing control of the room, the teacher stood frozen, unsure of what to do next.

Suddenly, a figure appeared in the doorway, a backpack slung over one shoulder. Chuck reached out, grabbed Renee by the collar, and kicked her a solid ten feet down the hallway. "You're blocking my path."
