Renee collapsed on the floor, staring up at him in absolute shock.
He had just resorted to violence right in front of the teacher?
The teacher knew who Chuck was—a top-tier student with an off-the-charts IQ. But why was this straight-A student acting like a complete thug, completely unbound by the rules?
The moment the class caught sight of Chuck, dead silence fell over the room.
Everyone knew he was absolutely ruthless.
The teacher scrambled to nod. "Y-yes, right."
Mandy looked like she was about to cry tears of joy.
Talk about perfect timing.
Just as she was about to sit back down, Chuck tossed his backpack straight into her arms. "Go sit somewhere else."
Before Mandy could even process the demand, he nudged Juno into the row and took the seat beside her.
With him sitting there, no one in the classroom dared to breathe a word.
Mandy breathed a sigh of motherly relief, grabbed her bag, and moved to the empty desk she had originally saved for him.
Chuck shot the teacher a freezing glare. "Are we going to start class or what?"
The teacher practically tripped over his own feet rushing to the podium. "Yes, right away."
It wasn't until he started talking that he realized how absurd the situation was.
Chuck was just a kid, so why had he suddenly felt so intimidated by him?
He couldn't wrap his head around it.
He nervously rubbed the back of his neck.
Because Chuck was sitting right there, the students who had wanted to hurl more insults at Juno kept their mouths firmly shut.
If they crossed the line, there was a very real chance he would pin them to the floor and beat them senseless.
Juno remained completely withdrawn for the rest of the day.
Lost in her own dark thoughts.
He watched her all day.
When the final bell rang and Juno packed up to leave, he suddenly grabbed her arm.
She stared at him, utterly confused by his behavior.
He wanted to yell at her, but the words bottlenecked in his throat. He was frustrated and didn't know how to fix this.
"If you're going to use your fists, stop wasting time arguing! Got it?! Who are you putting on this tragic act for all day?! If someone comes at you, you hit back! Why are you trying to reason with idiots? If they don't get the message, beat them until they do! Stop looking so pathetic in front of me!"
She just blinked at him after getting yelled at.
All this guy did was curse and act tough.
So uncivilized.

In the fallout of the scandal, nearly all of Maia's brand deals evaporated. The companies dumped the entirety of the financial losses onto her, scrambling over each other to sever their contracts.
But that wasn't enough. Under Rocco's direct pressure, absolutely no one dared to show her any mercy. It was a completely coordinated execution of her career.
Buried beneath a mountain of breach-of-contract lawsuits, even her management team gave up. There was no coming back from this.
One by one, they walked away.
What he hated most in the world were people with zero background who still clung to their stupid pride.
Maia had been the exact same way.
Juno didn't move an inch.
Rocco sighed, looking bored. "Your sister sacrificed everything for you, and you can't even get on your knees for her?"
He waved a hand dismissively. "If kneeling is too hard, then come over here and kiss me. That's easy enough, right? Ten grand per kiss. With the massive debts she's drowning in, I imagine you two are pretty desperate for cash?"
Even Balfour couldn't listen to this anymore. "Rocco, just drop it."
His brother shot him a venomous glare. "If you don't know your place or how things work around here, get the hell out!"
Balfour looked at Juno, his eyes flashing with guilt.
...
At the exact same time, Chuck arrived at Lorcan’s estate.
Lorcan found the whole thing hilarious. "I thought you'd rather die than submit? What brings you crawling here today?"
"I need money."
"Heh. And why is your financial situation my problem?" Lorcan looked at him like he was a complete joke.
Chuck knew exactly what was going on. Maia's destruction had been quietly orchestrated by Lorcan to embolden Rocco’s attack.
Lorcan did it because he wanted something.
And his real target had always been Chuck.
That was exactly why Chuck hadn't gone to the family patriarch; he came straight to the source.
