Caleb Mercer stared blankly at the formidable group of men flooding his office.
In the center of the expansive room stood a man. Behind him, an imposing entourage fanned out—clearly his highly trained subordinates.
Just his presence alone was suffocating.
He had short, chestnut-brown hair and wore gold wire-rimmed glasses resting on a high, sharp nose. In his hands, he leaned casually on a walking cane intricately coiled with a hyper-realistic golden python.
Dressed in a bespoke suit layered under a sharp black overcoat, he looked effortlessly regal, yet undeniably dangerous.
Caleb suddenly felt completely insignificant in front of this group.
These men felt like true aristocracy, the absolute apex predators of the upper echelon.
The man maintained a polite, constant smile, but the aura he projected made it terrifyingly clear he was not someone to cross.
Under his piercing gaze, cold sweat beaded on Caleb's back. He forced himself to ask, "And you are...?"
Morgan's amber eyes stared right through the lenses at Caleb. "We would like to know the current whereabouts of Ms. Juno Mercer."
"I apologize, but I am not at liberty to disclose that information."
"Then I will simply find her myself."
Morgan's smile never wavered as he delivered the statement with chilling nonchalance.
Blackwood City's intelligence network was ranked among the deadliest in the world.
It only took Caleb a single second to understand the reality of the situation.
These men already knew exactly where Juno was. Asking him was just a formality. If he answered, they'd proceed with their intel. Since he refused, their visit simply served as a polite declaration of intent: *We are going to her.*
It was an act of terrifyingly absolute, gentlemanly dominance.
"What do you want with her?!"
Morgan turned and led his men directly out of the office, completely ignoring Caleb's frantic question.
"We can't rule it out."
"If I find out some rat is stealing her legacy, I swear to God, I will butcher them!"
Morgan would never allow some greedy, talentless trash to taint Juno's life's work.
If Juno were still alive, she would never have let them get away with it!
Suddenly, an insane thought had struck him. He grabbed one of the jewelry pieces and immediately traveled to a highly concealed, esoteric location.
Ancient, intricate symbols were carved deep into massive, heavy wooden doors.
The moment he arrived, the doors slowly groaned open from the inside.
An elderly woman sat in the center of the shadowy room. She slowly opened her eyes. Spread across the table in front of her was a complex tarot spread, the cards radiating an intense spiritual energy.
The old woman snapped her head up, her eyes locking onto Morgan's grim expression. "The cards reveal a hidden truth, pulsing with renewed life... The energy flows directly toward Kingsland, specifically the Corrington family. Morgan, take your men and find her. She may still be alive."
