The True Heiress: Legend Mode novel Chapter 284

You can see for yourself whether you have more buildings or I have more bombs."

An omnipresent syndicate.

Juno rested her chin on her hands, staring innocently at the director.

The director was practically hyperventilating with rage. Someone had just blown up his facility. How could he tolerate this?!

"Take them down!!"

The Research Institute was full of hidden talents, with armed guards disguised among the researchers.

At his command, they all drew their weapons.

But the second their guns were out, a red laser dot appeared squarely on the forehead of every single guard.

Snipers were positioned at all the high vantage points.

And there was more than one.

The director was losing his mind.

Juno sat there completely unbothered. All she was missing was a cup of tea to sip while watching the show. Facing the paralyzed, utterly defeated crowd, she didn't forget to taunt them. "You don't know me very well, Director. If you want to take me out, you'd better make sure I don't get the chance to wake up..."

She paused, her eyes curving into a smile as she articulated each word. "Otherwise, I will hunt you to the ends of the earth."

"So, I'll ask you one last time. Did someone report me?"

The director's mouth was far more stubborn than she anticipated. "No!!"

Juno raised an eyebrow. "Alright."

She flicked her finger again.

"BOOM!!"

Another deafening explosion rang out, making everyone's ears ring as the ground shook violently.

Another building rapidly collapsed into a pile of rubble.

The dust grew even thicker.

Chuck picked her up and carried her to the car. "Stop looking. Let's go."

If she stayed out here any longer, her lungs would be ruined.

Having caused enough chaos, Juno behaved, saying and doing nothing more.

Just the thought of being stuck at this university until Juno fully recovered made her want to tear her hair out.

She didn't expect the drama to start quite so fast.

Juno came to a sudden halt, and Lucia stopped right behind her.

Claire Ashworth had lost her patience with Shayla, and the two were arguing again.

"You're crossing the line, Shayla! It was one thing when you borrowed Juno's stuff occasionally, but why are you still taking it??? Do you really think you own the place??"

Shayla, currently applying the concealer Juno had bought, stared into her mirror without even sparing Claire a glance. She was desperately trying to cover the bruises on her face. "This is between me and her. What does it have to do with you? We're best friends. It's completely natural for me to use her things. She hasn't complained, so why are you getting so worked up?

What? Are you mad because now that I'm using them, there's no room left for you to mooch off Juno? Is that why you're so agitated?"

She rolled her eyes disdainfully. "Tsk. Incompetent rage."

What a joke.

The Ashworth family was nothing but a minor, insignificant clan.

Claire was so furious at the accusation she could barely speak. "You're shameless!! She's my friend too!"

Shayla pushed her luck further. "Then go ahead and use it too."
