Morgan gave him a side-eye, turned around, and walked away.
Miles: ?
Why was everyone acting so weird today?
He shut the door and drove off, feeling utterly exasperated.
Leaning against Chuck's back, Juno casually kept the conversation going out of boredom.
"Chuck, where are you spending the holidays?"
"Depends on you."
Juno thought about it. "Oh, then I should probably go back to Blackwood City."
Many people at the Obsidian Court were waiting for her to return.
They always gathered together on New Year's Eve.
It was a tradition they'd kept for years.
"Alright."
Then he would head back to Blackwood City too.
"Did the Yates family give you a hard time?"
"No."
Juno nodded again.
As long as they weren't making things difficult for him, it was fine.
As they walked down the street, they drew quite a few stares.
Snippets of conversation drifted into their ears.
"Ugh, of course gorgeous people only hang out with other gorgeous people. Aside from the girl dressing like a tasteless bear, everything else is perfect. I want someone to carry me too!"
Tasteless Juno: ?
"He's so handsome and spoils his girlfriend so much! The universe owes me a boyfriend!"
Juno pulled a mask out of her pocket and strapped it onto Chuck's face. Little did she know, leaving only those intense eyes exposed somehow made him look even hotter.
A group of passing high school girls gasped.
"Holy crap, he's gorgeous!"
They looked at Chuck, then looked at their own boyfriends, rolling their eyes in sudden disgust.
Of course, all the good boyfriends belonged to someone else.
After they walked for a bit, Juno got hungry.
Chuck had wanted to find a warm place to sit down.
But Juno insisted on sitting by the side of the road.
A moment later, the billboard switched.
It displayed the news of Ashmere's upcoming world tour.
Juno voiced her approval. "It's not easy to achieve this much in such a short amount of time."
Her phone pinged. She pulled it out and saw a notification from Willow Webb.
[I did it!]
Juno's facial features softened, and she accepted the friend request.
Her health wasn't great, and she couldn't stay out in the freezing wind for too long. So, regardless of whether she was done eating, Chuck simply scooped her up into his arms and walked away.
Juno rarely got to indulge like this and hadn't expected to be dragged back so soon. She tried to resist.
Chuck didn't even look at her. His jawline was rigid, his tone leaving no room for argument. "If you don't behave, I'm throwing your sweet potato away."
Juno immediately froze.
The Imperium had signed a contract for new products with the Talbot family, which meant the Talbots were about to launch their second batch soon.
After all, they had stolen two sets of creative drafts.
They had no choice but to release them.
Watching the situation unfold in a way that eerily mirrored what happened with the Jagger family, Rhiannon Corrington felt an inexplicable sense of panic. The feeling made her deeply uncomfortable. "Dad, why don't we stop for now?"
