Juno's dark eyes were so piercing they seemed to see right through their souls. "You're all completely useless. Why would the Talbot family pay a premium to poach you?"
Someone in the crowd wanted to argue back, but upon opening his mouth, he found he had absolutely no rebuttal.
Juno continued twisting the knife. "Oh, right. Your only use was that you had seen my design drafts. What they paid for were my designs."
She stood up, faced them, and addressed the entire room. "You are worthless."
The conference room was deathly quiet; only Juno's voice echoed through the space.
"Based solely on what you just said to her, I will make sure no company in this industry dares to hire you."
Someone with a bit of a backbone suddenly burst into loud laughter. "Hahahaha! Now that's some arrogant talk! I'd really love to see if anyone is actually too scared to hire me!"
He slammed the door and walked out.
The entire group followed.
Margie didn't feel an ounce of pity; those people should have been gone a long time ago.
And the tension she had been holding onto for days instantly dissipated.
Now that Juno was back, she didn't have to worry about a thing.
"You don't need to worry about the rest of this, Aunt Margie. I'll handle it," Juno said.
Margie almost teared up with emotion. With Juno around, she finally felt like she had someone to lean on.
Since things were settled here, she stood up. "Alright, I'll head back first then."
With Juno here, she felt completely at ease.
Juno nodded.
Once the conference room was empty, Juno tilted her head slightly. "Have Octy put together a new product proposal. Expedite it."
"Understood."
Morgan replied, acknowledging the order.
This time, she was going to bankrupt the Talbot family.
After sorting out the aftermath, Juno walked out of the building and saw Chuck Yates waiting by the entrance.
Despite Juno's deadpan expression, Chuck bundled her into yet another heavy coat.
She suddenly lost all desire to go for a stroll.
Chuck looked at her.
Juno spread her arms wide. "Carry me. I can't walk."
Chuck's lips twitched slightly. "Hop on."
He bent down in front of her, and Juno climbed onto his back as he carried her forward.
Standing by the car door, Miles sighed at the sickeningly sweet scent of romance in the air. He shut the door.
Just as he was wondering how he was going to get back, he felt a gaze burning into him.
He looked up to see Morgan staring at him blankly, the eyes on his cane flashing with an eerie red light.
Miles's face was full of question marks. "It's not like I'm the one who took your LORD away! Why are you looking at me like that???"
