The True Heiress: Legend Mode novel Chapter 312

The Corringtons and Jaggers are deeply shaken.

Juno worked so hard for everyone in the Obsidian Court.

She wanted to protect every single person under her wing.

"Clothing, jewelry, hospitality—couldn't any of those make me money?!" she shouts. "Why do you think I risked my life to dive into the military-industrial sector?!"

Tears well up in the eyes of the people kneeling below.

Juno's bloodshot gaze sweeps over them. "Because what I want isn't a peaceful retreat! I want you all to stay alive!"

Wealth isn't enough. They need absolute power. The two go hand in hand to secure an unshakable position at the top.

A wave of chills runs through the crowd.

This is the first time they've so clearly understood the core belief behind the Obsidian Court's creation.

Juno glares at Lucia. "So you sent out an army to do absolutely nothing just to put on a show for me?!"

Lucia shuts her eyes in deep regret.

She really should have dropped those bombs.

Juno stands up, her tone vicious. "A bunch of useless fools."

She descends the stairs. Morgan scrambles to his feet to meet her, his face dreadfully pale. "Where is the LORD going?" he asks, his voice thick with worry.

Before he can get close, Tristan Todd steps in, expressionless, blocking his path. "I'll be shadowing the LORD for now."

Morgan stares at Tristan in disbelief.

The LORD is truly furious this time.

Tristan softens slightly. "Focus on recovering."

Morgan's pale lips part, but words fail him. Finally, he murmurs, "Protect her."

Tristan's eyes flash with complex emotions. "I will."

Tristan turns and follows Juno out.

After she leaves, the people on the floor remain frozen for a long time before slowly rising to their feet.
