The True Heiress: Legend Mode novel Chapter 32

As soon as the words left her mouth, the door opened. Morgan stepped in and personally handed his cane to Juno.

The cane was uniquely crafted—heavy, pitch-black, and icy to the touch. Gripping it tightly, she immediately swung it right at Darcey's face.

"Ah!"

The sheer force of the swing made a sharp, whistling sound through the air.

Darcey collapsed to the floor, three of her teeth knocked completely loose.

Juno ran her fingers over the smooth handle as she approached Braden on the hospital bed. She pressed the tip of the cane hard against the side of his head, pinning his skull against the cold wall.

"Wh-what are you going to do?"

"You didn't look this pathetic before I got here. From what I heard, you were screaming louder than anyone."

She slowly dragged the cane down, letting the sharp tip rest dangerously against his Adam's apple.

Braden froze, his entire body trembling uncontrollably as he gulped.

"Ahhhhh!"

...

A frantic rush of doctors flooded into the room.

Standing outside in the hallway, Rhiannon was completely paralyzed. She knew she would never forget what she had just witnessed.

Juno had brutally crushed Braden's throat.

His agonizing screams echoed in her mind. Just watching it happen had made her own neck throb with sympathetic pain.

Braden, who originally just needed some bed rest, was now being rushed into emergency surgery because of her.

Harrison and Gwendolyn clearly had a lot to say to their daughter, but given the chaotic setting and Rhiannon's presence, they simply urged Juno to head home immediately.

They were practically bursting with questions.

For instance, who was this guy in the gold-rimmed glasses?

He looked refined and polite, but the subtle, dangerous edge to him made it obvious he wasn't just some ordinary assistant.

Once her parents were gone, she turned to Morgan. "Where's Rhoda?"

"She's resting in a room downstairs. She's severely shaken up, but physically unharmed."

But the day she tracked them down, everything changed. She had them admitted to Genesis Hospital, put them in VIP suites, and hired top doctors to give them full-body checkups.

She even hired private nurses for them.

Guys like them didn't have families. They were completely alone in the world. When they got hurt, there was no one to care for them. Yet she had made sure they were looked after.

Underneath that icy, terrifying exterior, she actually had a heart.

Thinking about it, Claud decided he needed to thank her in person.

After checking on her friend, Juno stepped back into the hall. "Leave two guys at her door. Call me if anything happens."

"I'll handle it," Morgan replied.

After giving a few more instructions, she left the building. Almost immediately, her sharp instincts picked up on someone trailing her.

She turned into a narrow alleyway, spotted a heavy manhole cover on the pavement, and quietly slid it aside.

Claud followed her into the alley. The very next second, a massive force kicked him square in the back, sending him plunging down into the dark utility shaft.

"Holy shit!"
