The True Heiress: Legend Mode novel Chapter 351

The guy didn't let go of the chair; instead, he looked back at Juno Mercer. He knew who she was.

He gripped the chair tightly, and Juno didn't let go either.

Juno frowned. "I asked you a question."

This was Paxton Ramsey, Head of the Student Conduct Board. Just from his fierce expression, an average person would have cowered a bit.

But to Juno and Lucia Corbett, a face like that meant absolutely nothing.

Paxton looked Juno up and down, noting her slender frame and deciding she posed zero threat.

The Computer Science Department was really going downhill, making a girl their class president.

What good was a girl? Girls couldn't handle real pressure.

It was precisely because she was a girl that Paxton felt emboldened to throw his weight around, his arrogance flaring even higher.

Dismissive, he yanked hard to pull the chair away, only to find it wouldn't budge. Juno's facial expression didn't change in the slightest. She held onto the chair, looking as if she wouldn't let this go until he gave her a proper explanation.

As Head of the Student Conduct Board, Paxton had to maintain his authority; otherwise, how could he keep these students in line in the future?

"You're the president of Class Three, right? Why didn't you show up to the meeting yesterday?"

Juno didn't move an inch. Her tone deepened. "Is there something wrong with your ears? I asked why you're causing a scene here."

Starting a riot first thing in the morning.

"What do you mean, causing a scene? We were doing our routine morning attendance check. I asked your classmates nicely, but no one gave me a headcount. Don't they know how to cooperate?"

"So you hit them?" Juno retorted.

Paxton acted like he couldn't comprehend Juno's unreasonable behavior. "Are you trying to pick a fight? I was just doing my job."

A guy from Class Three who had joined the brawl interrupted, "Don't listen to his bullshit! He swaggered in here to check attendance, but his voice was so low our guys didn't hear him, and then he just impatiently started swinging.

How could we just stand by while our guys got hit? That's why we fought back."

The speaker was covered in bruises.

The group of boys behind him were in the same battered state.

Old injuries hadn't healed, and now they had new ones.

Even though they were beaten black and blue, they were still fiercely defiant, practically itching for round two.
