The True Heiress: Legend Mode novel Chapter 57

Morgan slammed his foot forward, effortlessly kicking the flimsy door clean off its hinges.

The people inside shrieked in terror.

Carmela cowered back against the wall.

Locked inside one of the bedrooms, Willow stood anxiously in the center of the room, her lips pressed tightly together in nervous anticipation.

In that moment, she desperately prayed these intruders were here to take her away.

After kicking the door in, Morgan stepped back, allowing Juno to enter the apartment first before following her inside like a shadow.

The sheer, overwhelming authority radiating from the two of them made Cassie feel instantly inferior and pathetic in her own home.

There was something deeply terrifying in Juno's eyes; a single glance was enough to ensure no one dared defy her.

Juno walked straight to the locked bedroom door. With one sharp chop of her hand, the cheap padlock shattered and hit the floor.

The impact left her arm slightly numb.

The apartment was falling apart and the hardware was ancient, which was the only reason she could break it so easily in her injured state.

As the door swung open, Juno appeared before Willow like an absolute savior.

She was tall, her posture sharp, her presence suffocating. She looked Willow over once and asked casually, "Ashmere?"

Willow scrambled forward, nodding desperately. "That's me."

"Pack your things. You're coming with me," Juno ordered.

Without missing a beat, Willow dragged a pre-packed suitcase out from under her bed and stood firmly behind Juno. "I'm ready."

Seeing this, Carmela flew into a rage. The fact that the little brat already had a bag packed meant she'd been planning to escape for a long time. There was no way Carmela was letting her leave so easily.

"What gives you the right to just take my daughter?! Kicking down doors in broad daylight! Is there no law in this city anymore?! Cassie! Call the cops!"

Cassie, who had been staring in dumb shock, jolted awake. "O-okay!"

She frantically patted her pockets for her phone.

Juno simply asked, "How much?"

She grabbed a random object off the counter and swung it at Willow, but Juno caught her arm mid-swing.

Juno tossed the stack of bills right at Carmela's chest. "One hundred grand. To fix your two garbage doors. Don't even dream about trying to squeeze another cent out of Willow."

Carmela's heart sank, but she stubbornly fired back, "Hah! You think you can just buy people like we're in the dark ages?! I have legal custody of her! No matter where she goes, she still belongs to me!"

Juno raised an eyebrow. "Then sue me."

She said it as casually as discussing the weather.

Juno's legal team was based out of Blackwood City, widely recognized as the most terrifyingly effective corporate lawyers on the planet.

A petty custody dispute was vastly beneath them, but it only took one word from Juno to mobilize the entire firm.

Leaving those words hanging in the air, Juno turned and walked out with Willow. Morgan even politely closed the broken door behind them.

Carmela stomped her foot in rage. "That little traitor! I'll take her to court, I swear I will! She thinks she can just abandon us?! Not a chance in hell!"

Cassie, who had stayed completely silent the entire time, pulled her mother back to reality. "Mom, suing people costs a fortune. Plus, you saw how rich she is. Do you really think any lawyer we can afford could beat whoever she hires?
