They pulled up at the hotel.
Felicia walked into the lobby with Anne’s little hand tucked firmly in hers. Up ahead, two men were deep in conversation. She called out, “Greg.”
Greg and Darin had just bumped into each other. Even though they weren’t exactly friends, and more like rivals, they still exchanged a few polite words. Just as they were wrapping up, Felicia’s voice cut through the lobby. Both men turned at the same time.
The sunlight streaming through the big windows lit up Felicia and Anne. Their faces were all smiles, bright and full of joy. For a split second, Darin felt like he was seeing someone he once knew. Something sharp and unfamiliar twisted in his chest. He couldn’t put his finger on it.
Felicia walked closer but didn’t spare Darin a glance. She looked right at Greg instead. “Greg, where are Mom and Dad?”
Darin quickly hid whatever he was feeling, smoothing out his expression.
“Hi, Uncle Darin,” Anne piped up, her voice sweet and polite.
Darin crouched down to her level, his eyes soft. “Hey, Anne. Been a while, hasn’t it?”
Smiling, Darin fished a piece of candy out of his pocket and handed it to her. Felicia stood back, quietly watching them, not interrupting their moment.
Greg’s phone buzzed. Ava called. He answered, said a few words, then hung up and turned to Darin. “Mr. Foxhall, see you next time.”
Darin stood and nodded. “Anne, let’s go.”
Anne waved goodbye to him, and Felicia still hadn’t said a word to Darin. Greg lifted Anne into his arms, unable to hide how much he doted on her. Darin stayed where he was, watching them leave. The sight of them together, so warm and happy, lingered even after they were gone. That odd heaviness in his chest wouldn’t leave.
“Greg.”
“Max almost never goes away this long without taking Anne,” Luke said. “She’s gotten really attached to you. What are you going to do when she finds out the truth about you?”
Felicia paused, her fork halfway to her mouth. It took her a moment, but then she smiled, just a little. “We’ll cross that bridge when we get to it.”
Right now, she was just enjoying every moment she had alone with Anne.
Luke let it go. He didn’t press further.
“Felicia, what are you two talking about?” Heather called over.
Felicia looked up and, just then, caught Jeremy watching her from across the table.

The readers' comments on the novel: The Ugly Wife’s Stunning Comeback (Felicia and Max)
Nothing today...
The story starting to feel dragged out. Nothing much is happening anymore and Felicia and Max are getting kinda boring.. it’s just the same cycle over and over again...
I used to like this story but now it draaaaags :( Now it seems like all characters are problematic and toxic (yes, ALL characters). Wish the author will give some warmth/emotion in this story. 700+ chapters and still no highlight, no exciting part, just pure coldness and expressionlessness lol...
Max and felicia really need to figure things out. Either humble max down and get him to respect his wife. Or let felicia be a free woman. Max is so ignorant and egomaniac...
I've reached chapter 104 with a broken heart huhuuhu. This is so heavy, so sad. I know the chapters onwards will be more lighter. Can't wait for the pay back time....
When will this novel get an end It's dragging so much. Just kill max asap. How much should felicia bare. Give her freedom from that max and anne. Anne is so annoying child. I know she wants to patch up her mother and father. But sometimes it's really boring.please finish the novel soon. Everyday we have to check for the chapter updates. For God sake finish it off. How many more chapters are there . You could have make the novel short and sweet. I wish if it was in theatre we could have finish it soon....
I am waiting for the update, thank you uploader we reader enjoying the story...
Finally! The robot Max is turning into a human....
The longer it takes to update chapters, the faster I lose my interest. Time to find another novel to indulge to, I guess....
