The Ugly Wife’s Stunning Comeback (Felicia and Max) novel Chapter 413

A strange wave of fear washed over Andrea, and for a moment she had no idea what to do. The bodyguard standing next to her glanced at Holden. He had just come back from calling Max, and when he saw the situation inside, he quietly asked if Andrea wanted to leave. She decided to stay to see how everything would play out.

Holden asked, “So, you’re saying Evelynn slept her way to the top?” His voice was calm, almost emotionless, but the chill in it made Andrea’s skin crawl. Hs presence was too intense. Fear crowded out every other thought. She had no clue what he was getting at. To her, Holden was just another rich playboy. He probably only wanted Felicia for the thrill, and Felicia’s push and pull had just made him want her more. Men like him were all the same.

Andrea spoke up, her voice sharp. “Maybe you don’t know, but she used to be fat and ugly. She was so cunning, and when she couldn’t get the man she wanted, she went as far as drugging him just to get into his bed.”

A small smile played on Holden’s lips. “Oh? So, did she climb into your man’s bed?”

Andrea didn’t answer, which said enough.

Holden’s tone stayed cool. “Funny, because I heard Evelynn say you were the one who broke up her marriage.”

The words hit Andrea like a slap. Her face turned pale.

Right then, the bodyguard’s phone buzzed. He answered it quickly.

“Sir?”

“Who else is in the shop?”

The bodyguard glanced at the man on the sofa. Remembering the name Holden, he lowered his voice. “A man named Holden.”

Max ended the call.

Holden’s phone started to ring. He checked who it was and let out a short, cold laugh before telling his bodyguards, “That’s enough.”

Luke and Felicia were being boxed in by three bodyguards, forced to keep moving back. At Holden’s word, the men stopped.

Holden answered his phone. As he listened, his eyes shifted to Luke, a look of realization dawning. “So, he’s your cousin. Now that I see you two together, there is a resemblance.”

Max didn’t bother looking at Holden. He just patted Andrea on the shoulder, and she stepped away, tears still on her face as she clung to his arm.

“I have nothing to do with her crying,” Holden said, sounding amused.

Max ignored him and walked over to Felicia and Luke. He looked at Luke and asked, “Are you alright?”

Luke tried to brush it off. “I’m fine.”

Max reached out and squeezed Luke’s arm. Luke flinched in pain, his jaw tightening.

Felicia watched Luke with worried eyes.

Max glanced at her, then let go and turned to Holden, his expression icy. “So this is what you call a misunderstanding?”
