The Ultimate Litter: A Beast World System Tale novel Chapter 358

Chapter 358 Going to Eva’s Place

While the moment was still right, Claire said, “Come on, say it after me. Dad… Daddy!”

“Chirp chirp!”

“Chirp chirp chirp chirp!”

No matter how hard Claire tried to teach them, the younglings could only answer with happy little chips.

The worry Corvin had been holding onto finally melted away.

A bright, cheerful smile spread across his face, sweeping away the coldness that had surrounded him moments before.

“They’ll need at least another six months before they can talk. Don’t worry. When the time comes, I’ll teach them myself.”

As for exactly what he planned to teach them… that remained to be seen.

Corvin quietly celebrated to himself. The joy in his eyes chased away much of the gloom that usually clung to him.

Watching him, Claire couldn’t help feeling surprised. So the healer had a side like this too.

He wasn’t always so gloomy after all.

Zane quietly watched Corvin and Claire together before letting out a sigh.

Forget it. They were already short on help anyway.

Since Rufus wasn’t around, letting the crow beastfolk fill in wasn’t the worst idea.

Of course, that was only if he truly treated Claire well. He still needed to keep an eye on that.

By the time Zane had made up his mind, Claire was already urging him to leave.

“Ghostbird, younglings, I’ll come see you again tomorrow! Be good and eat your meals!”

The answer, as always, was a chorus of cheerful chirping.

“Chirp chirp chirp chirp!”

Holding Claire in his arms, Zane asked, “Where to next?”

“Eva’s place.”

Then, as if she’d just remembered something, a mischievous grin spread across her face.

Zane looked down at her.

“What is it?”

Claire cleared her throat, trying to look serious.

“You missed all the fun last night. Eva’s wedding night was really lively.”

Zane had never cared much for noisy celebrations, but he noticed the hint of envy in Claire’s eyes. He smiled gently, a teasing spark dancing in his gaze.

“If you want, Claire, we can have our bonding ceremony all over again and let everyone celebrate our wedding night too.”

For Claire, he was willing to step into all the excitement.

Claire’s cheeks instantly turned bright red. She lightly punched his chest with her fist.

“You’re awful! I don’t want everyone watching us!”

To her surprise, Zane suddenly winced. His face twisted dramatically as he coughed, as though she’d hit him with something heavy.

Thinking she’d accidentally punched him too hard. Claire hurriedly rubbed the spot with her hand.

“I’m sorry! I’m so sorry! I didn’t mean to, Zane!”

Could it be that after taking so many strength pills, she’d become so strong that she didn’t even realize her own strength anymore?

Zane suddenly broke into a grin and planted a playful kiss on her cheek.

“I got you. It didn’t hurt at all.”

Only then did Claire realize she’d been tricked. Laughing and annoyed, she firmly pressed her finger against the rose mark on his chest.

“Didn’t hurt? What about now?”

Zane never slowed his pace, but his whole body trembled as every bit of his attention gathered where Claire’s finger was pressing.

“Ah… Claire, you…”

Claire smiled triumphantly, showing no sign of letting him off. Instead, she pressed even harder.

“What? Go on. Tell me. Does it hurt now… or does it feel-good?”

Zane tried to swallow the sounds threatening to escape, but his self-control cracked again and again. Fighting to steady himself, he lowered his head beside Claire’s ear and whispered between ragged breaths, “It… feels good… you little teaser…”

The playful punishment finally ended after Zane surrendered completely.

By the time they arrived at Eva’s house, another two hours had passed.

They had already come fairly late. Even so, Eva still wasn’t awake.

My

They were only Level I. Timid and physically weak, they had to start with the basics-horse stances and push-ups. Even so, each of them trained with fierce determination, performing every movement with complete focus.

Matilda hurried over with a smile.

“Claire! You’re here so early!”

“Yeah. Matilda, where’s Eva?”
