The monkey lunged forward, stretched out its hand, and then spun around to bolt away.
But the moment it turned, it stiffened, because it felt like it hadn’t grabbed anything.
That monkey turned its head back and stared in confusion at the sausage still in Scarlett’s hand.
Then it checked its own hand. It was empty.
[Hahaha, I can’t breathe! I swear I just saw a monkey look shocked!]
[I saw it too! Hahaha … It was so sure it would win like always.]
[That monkey is crazy fast, though. If it weren’t Scarlett, it would’ve escaped for sure.]
[Yeah, but Scarlett’s reflexes are insane!]
Scarlett kept holding the sausage, calmly watching the monkey turn back around.
The monkey stared at the sausage, then at its empty hand again, clearly unable to accept what just happened.
Scarlett smiled lightly. “You want it?”

Of course, the monkey didn’t understand her words. All it knew was that it had failed to steal food from a woman who looked easy to bully.
That had never happened before.
It bared its teeth and screeched at Scarlett.
It was a medium–sized male monkey.
It had always been cocky and had never failed at stealing food before.
Now that it was missed, it was furious. Its screeching looked downright hostile.
It even stretched out its claws, trying to scratch her.
Scarlett’s smile vanished. She raised her hand and slapped the monkey across the face.
She’d clearly held back. If she hadn’t, the monkey would’ve gone flying.
After the slap, the monkey grabbed its face, staring at herin disbelief.
It couldn’t believe a human had dared to hit it.
It screeched even louder.
Scarlett slapped it again on the other side of its face.
“Steal from me and try to scratch me too? Do you think I’ll just let that go?”

Chapter 127 Monkey King
[Hahaha! This monkey finally got slapped! That was satisfying!]

[Same here. It even tried to claw her just now.]
[Wait, what’s Scarlett doing? Hitting an animal? Isn’t that abuse?]
[Give me a break. That monkey steals food and attacks people. Two slaps are nothing.]
Now, both sides of the monkey’s face hurt. It clutched its cheeks, no longer daring to act tough in front of
Scarlett.
It finally realized this human wasn’t like the others.
She hit fast and hard!
It stood no chance at all.
[Hahaha, it’s holding both sides of its face! This is hilarious!]
[Why does it suddenly look so pitiful? Where was that energy when it was stealing food? Bad monkey!]
Scarlett finally took a bite of the sausage she’d been holding for half an hour.
“Mmm. It’s cold, but still fine.”
When the monkey saw her eat the sausage, its anger flared again.
But it didn’t dare screech at her anymore.
It was afraid she’d slap it again.
Covering its face, it turned and ran.
After running several feet away, it spun back around, bared its teeth, and screeched at Scarlett in defiance.
Clearly, it still wasn’t convincing.
[Wow, it’s still mad. It even turned back to provoke her!]
[This monkey never learns.]
[So what was the point of hitting it? It’s still defiant. Once Scarlett leaves, won’t the monkeys just keep stealing and maybe bully people worse?]
[I feel like Scarlett has another plan.]
The monkey ran back to the back mountain.
Several miles into a valley, there stood a massive, sturdy tree.
More than 20 monkeys lived around it.
Monkey King lived right in that tree.
