Chapter 141 The Real Daughter

“You… have you lost your mind?” Matthew never expected his eldest daughter to have this kind of attitude.
He had assumed what she said that day was just anger.
He was her biological father.
How could she just sever their relationship like that?
After speaking, Scarlett walked into the Quinn Estate without looking back.
Matthew was fuming. He wanted to follow her inside and slap some sense into her for her disrespect.
He was just about to go after her.
But the butler at the entrance stopped him.
The butler wore a polite smile. “I’m sorry, sir, but this is a private Quinn family banquet. Without an invitation, no one is allowed inside.”
Only then did Matthew calm down, his eyes fixed coldly on his eldest daughter’s retreating figure.
Leona stood at the entrance, also watching Scarlett with a cold gaze.
Something was definitely off about Scarlett.
She had previously assumed all those performances on the show were just scripted acts.
But now, one by one, they were being proven real.
How could it possibly be scripted?
There was no way Bluebird Media could have gotten the Quinns and Crawfords to play along with some act for Scarlett’s sake.
Who did Scarlett think she was?
The Quinns wouldn’t even give the Baileys the time of day.
The Quinns and the Crawfords, one a wealthy elite family and the other connected to political circles, would never do something like that.
So everything Scarlett had shown on the program was real.
At the very least, she had martial arts training and could perform psychic readings.
The only question was whether she had learned these things before or if they had suddenly appeared.
Could it be that the crystal bead hadn’t actually been lost?
What if Scarlett had somehow used it?

But if the crystal bead really had been used by Scarlett, the “Treasure Hunter” should have been able to detect it.
Leona understood the situation clearly.
Now that the crystal bead was gone, whether it was truly lost or not, the chances of getting it back were basically zero.
So there was no need to show Scarlett any more courtesy.
If the opportunity arose in the future, she might as well just destroy her.
Scarlett entered the Quinn Estate.
Besides the banquet set up in the main reception hall, there was also a beautifully decorated garden at the front entrance for welcoming guests.
Alex was standing in the garden with a few of his friends, secretly observing Scarlett.
Their spot was fairly hidden, in a leisure gazebo behind the main garden area.
Scarlett sensed someone watching her from the garden.
She turned her head and glanced in that direction.
Through the layers of flowers and trees, she spotted Alex and his friends.
Alex was Zoey’s nephew.
The last time Callie went to the police station, Zoey had gone with Alex.
Scarlett turned back and continued walking toward the reception hall inside.
Back in the garden, Alex exclaimed in surprise, “Did Scarlett just spot us?”
Another young man with dyed blonde hair scratched his head. “No way. This spot is way too hidden. She definitely didn’t see us. And hey, why are we out here watching anyway? Let’s just go inside.”
Alex nodded.
“Yeah, let’s go. Let’s head in.”
They were just curious about Scarlett, which was why they had been standing outside watching.
They had also seen Scarlett say something to Matthew at the entrance.
Of course, they were too far away to hear what she said to her father.
But judging by their expressions, whatever she said probably wasn’t pleasant. It had clearly made Matthew
furious.

Scarlett entered the main hall.
There weren’t too many people at the banquet, though there were quite a few older guests.
They were probably relatives and elders from both families.
Scarlett spotted Zoey and Callie.
Zoey was leading Callie around, introducing her to friends and family from both sides.
