First, Scarlett prepared the detox pills for Yvonne.

Then she made the scar–removal cream for Elliot’s wife.

Elliot would be coming to pick it up that evening.

He was still at the training camp working with the actors.

The movie he was directing still hadn’t started filming yet.

Next came the hair growth serum and skin renewal cream.

She worked straight through until the afternoon.

Then she packaged up the hair growth serum and skin renewal cream and sent them to the testing facility for inspection. She would need the results when she opened her online store.

After finishing all that, she finally made herself some lunch.

While eating, she scrolled through her phone and noticed that the group chat “Spirits and Vibes” was pretty active.

This was Alex’s group chat with his friends. Eva and Gerald from last night’s banquet were both in it. There were eight people in the group.

Yesterday, Alex had added her and Callie, bringing the total to ten.

Scarlett noticed the group because Alex had just tagged her.

Alex said, “@Scarlett, she’s started buying trolls to attack you too.”

Only then did Scarlett notice the messages in the group.

She usually didn’t check group chats.

She scrolled up and saw that they had been discussing the trending topics from this morning.

Alex had nearly blown a fuse in the group chat that morning,

Alex said, “Damn, is Gemma seriously insane? Would it kill her to just lay low? If my aunt and uncle saw she was really struggling later on, they might’ve helped her out a little.

“But now she’s gone completely crazy, buying trolls to attack my aunt and uncle. She’s even going after my uncle’s character, saying he doesn’t deserve his position?

“She already got my uncle investigated last time. Did she learn nothing? Pulling this crap is only going to make my aunt and uncle hate her even more.”

Eva replied, “Are you sure she’s the one who bought the trolls?”

Alex said, “Yeah. My dad had someone look into it. It was definitely her. She paid trolls to attack my aunt and uncle under all those trending topics.”

Eva replied, “What’s she trying to accomplish? Has she lost her mind? Why would she do something this stupid?

“If she’d just waited for things to blow over and sent your aunt and uncle nice messages every day, buttered them up a little—they raised her for 16 years, after all. There’s got to be some feelings there. Your aunt and uncle wouldn’t completely abandon her.

“They’d probably help her out eventually. Even a little help would be enough for her to live pretty comfortably.”

So Eva and everyone else in the group couldn’t understand why Gemma was in such a rush to buy trolls.

Why she was so desperate to have trolls attack Zoey and Daniel.

It was just stupid.

Alex said, “When my aunt and uncle took back all the assets under her name, they also took back most of her expensive jewelry.

“But all the clothes, accessories, and stuff she wore and used regularly were designer. Good stuff. She could’ve sold them secondhand for at least ten million dollars. My aunt didn’t go that far. She let Gemma keep all of that, figuring with ten million, Gemma could still live a decent life.

“Gemma had nowhere to stay, so she went back to her birth mother’s place. Her birth mother is still locked up waiting for sentencing. The only ones home are her father and her brother. And it turns out they’re both pieces of work.

“At first things were okay. But then her brother found out who she was and realized she’d brought back a bunch of expensive stuff. He straight up stole everything and sold it, then took the money gambling. Lost it all.

“Gemma grew up pampered. She’s never been the type to take that kind of treatment from anyone. So obviously she wasn’t going to let that slide. She got into a fight with her brother. But she didn’t stand a

chance.

“I’m guessing things got so bad over there that she couldn’t take it anymore. So when the tabloids broke the story about the Quinns‘ banquet and the switched daughters drama, she saw her chance and bought trolls to manipulate public opinion.

“You know my uncle is in politics. She probably thought he’d cave to public pressure and take her back. But she’s way too simple–minded. She thought we wouldn’t find out. She thought this would actually force my uncle to bring her home.”

Eva replied, “That explains why she was in such a hurry. So now that you have proof she bought the trolls. what are your aunt and uncle going to do?”

Alex said, “No idea. My dad sent all the evidence to my aunt after he found out. It’s up to her now.”
