While the viewers in the livestream were still talking, a child by the side of the road suddenly bent down, picked up a rock, and threw it at Scarlett and the others.

She had eaten a little in the morning, but she threw up everything on the way here.

If she didn’t eat soon, she was going to faint.

They spotted a family by the road cooking lunch, with a few kids nearby.

The kids stared at them.

Brianna smiled politely, ignored the kids by the road, and walked toward the house. A woman was cooking over a wood stove in an outdoor kitchen.

“Excuse me, Ma’am. We’re here to film a variety show in your town. Can we make a deal? I can help with some chores, and maybe you could give us a little food. Some fruit would be fine too.”

A tall, muscular man with dark skin walked out of the house. When he saw Brianna and Zayden, he glared at them angrily.

The woman turned and said a few words to the man.

The man shouted at Brianna and Zayden and yelled something at them.

Brianna felt a little scared, but couldn’t stop muttering, “What kind of town is this? Are all these people total savages?”

They couldn’t even talk to the locals. How were they supposed to survive this week?

When the tall man saw Brianna still complaining, his face turned full of anger. He raised his hand and slapped toward her.

Right before his hand hit Brianna’s face, he seemed to realize she was a woman. He angled the slap and instead hit Zayden’s face.

Zayden was completely stunned by the hit.

The tall man worked on a farm all the time, so he was very strong. Zayden felt his head buzzing. The world seemed to spin around him, and he fell backward.
