The Ultimate Reborn Heiress
Chapter 190 The Warning Shot

[I feel like Ena’s been doing really well these past two days. I can’t believe Scarlett actually fused pressure- point strikes with combat. That’s insane.]
[I don’t know… Ena trained with Nelson and the others, but obviously, they wouldn’t go all out on her. Look at these townsfolk–they’re solid, built like oxen. She probably can’t even beat her own dad.]
[Oh no, oh no–they’ve reached the school building. Is this going to turn into a fight? These townsfolk look fierce. This feels bad.]
The townsfolk had already marched into the courtyard in front of the school.
It was a dense crowd. Every face was etched with a grim, brooding expression.
Michael hurried forward to block them.
“Folks–what’s going on here?”
A buzz–cut man in his early thirties stepped out of the crowd. Ena’s father, Walsh Miller, pushed his way forward too.
The buzz–cut man pointed at Walsh. “He says you outsiders have kidnapped his daughter. Hand Ena over right now!”
He spoke in Dragorian.
Walsh barked something loudly in Drerea and jabbed a finger at Ena, shouting again–clearly ordering her
to come over.
Ena stared at her father. She didn’t move.
In Drerea, she shouted back, “I wasn’t kidnapped. I stayed here to learn something from them. In two days, when they leave, I’ll go home.”
Walsh roared at her, “Learn what? These outsiders have bad intentions. When they leave, they’ll take you with them!”
Ena shot back coldly, “What would they take me for? I don’t even know anything. If that were true, I’d rather go with them than stay here and get beaten by you every day.”
Walsh’s face twisted. “You’re my daughter! I beat you for your own good! It’s because you’re disobedient! You’ve been gone for two days–no chores, no looking after your brother. Are you trying to start a
rebellion?”
Ena’s fists clenched tight. She glared at him.
Scarlett spoke calmly in Drerea, “Everyone, Ena just wants to stay and learn a few things. She’s right. In two days, we’re leaving. She’ll go home then.”
From the crowd, an elderly man stepped forward.

He said something quietly to the buzz–cut man.

The man nodded, then raised his voice in Dragorian. “I don’t care when you leave. Ena is a child of the Drerea people. She is Walsh’s daughter.
“Walsh wants to take his daughter home. You will release her. If you don’t–don’t blame us for what happens next.”
He slammed the hoe in his hands onto the ground.
Scarlett’s eyes narrowed. A faint thread of black energy curled around the man’s love path–and the same dark energy lingered over his legacy path.
Murky energy and death energy.
And from his love path, she could see it clearly–his wife was heavily pregnant.
Scarlett read what his face revealed.
Scarlett frowned slightly. “You have a wife at home. She’s close to delivery.”
The man froze. “H–How do you know that?”
His name was Dorian Lowen.
The elderly man who had just spoken to him was his father, the mayor, Robert Lowen.
Dorian had gone to 12th grade and could speak Dragorian.
But how did this girl know about his family?
Had these outsiders already investigated the town?
Had she seen his wife somewhere?
Scarlett said evenly, “Your wife is in danger. Very likely, there will be some complications during labor. You should take her to the hospital immediately.”
“You outsider!” Dorian’s face flushed with anger. “We just came to get Ena back, and you start cursing my wife? How can you be so heartless?”
“Believe it or don’t.” Scarlett’s expression didn’t change. “As for Ena, she doesn’t want to go back to a life of being a punching bag. You won’t be taking her by force today–unless she decides to walk to you herself.”
