Chapter 196 The Feast and the Blacklist
Scarlett was their family’s savior.
Of course, they had to throw a banquet to thank her properly.
Scarlett said, “No need for me to stay here. Just have lunch ready tomorrow. I’ll come for the banquet.”
Fishing and hunting every day was a hassle anyway. A hot meal cooked by someone else sounded great.
And if she stayed here, Selina and Nelson would have a rough couple of days.
So, she wasn’t doing that to them.
Tomorrow, she’d just bring everyone over and eat.
Dorian grinned. “Yes, yes. Whatever you say.”
Then, Scarlett turned and pointed at Brianna and Zayden. “Oh–except those two. I don’t like them. They’re not invited tomorrow.”
Dorian didn’t hesitate. “Got it, got it. Whatever you say.”
He even took a good look at them, memorizing their faces so he could keep them out.
The entire exchange was in Dragorian.
Which meant Brianna and Zayden definitely heard it.
So did the livestream.
[Hahaha! I’m dying.]
[Scarlett is still holding a grudge and won’t even let them freeload one meal. Iconic.]
[Is Brianna about to explode?]
[Haha, her face is literally turning green.]
Brianna really did look like she might combust.
“Scarlett, are you sick in the head? Who–who even wants your stupid banquet!”
She’d lived on tomatoes and cucumbers for three straight days. Even her anger sounded weak.
She spun around and stormed off.
Scarlett had humiliated her–publicly
She swore she’d never be on the same show as Scarlett again.
Zayden glanced at Scarlett once, then followed his girlfriend.

Staying would’ve been asking for more humiliation.
After they left, Dorian turned back to Scarlett.
“Scarlett… should we remove the needles from my wife?”
Scarlett nodded. “Yes. I’ll go in and handle it. I’ll also write some food–based recovery recipes for her. You’ll need a few herbs and ingredients–buy them.
“Cook according to the list every day. It’ll help the baby, too. She needs to breastfeed, so I can’t give her a real prescription. We’ll nourish them both gently with food.”
The baby wasn’t full–term. Born early, it would be fragile.
Formula feeding wouldn’t be ideal.
Breastfeeding was best, but the mother had been through complications. Her body had taken a hit.
Strong medicine wasn’t an option. The baby couldn’t handle it.
So, food therapy was the way. Mother and child could recover little by little.
The mother also needed to rebuild her blood.
Nothing that couldn’t be managed.
Dorian thanked her again and again.
Scarlett went back inside and removed every needle from Carina’s body.
Carina was still pale, but she looked better than before–at least she had a hint of color now, a hint of life.
Carina thanked Scarlett in Drerea.
She and Dorian were childhood sweethearts, and after today, she knew she had chosen the right man.
Scarlett told her to rest properly, avoid strain, and keep her mood calm.
Then, she wrote Dorian a detailed food–therapy list.
For the next month, everything the mother should eat and drink–day by day–was laid out. Follow it, and
she’d be fine.
“You’ll be going to town tomorrow to buy supplies, right? Get everything on this list.”
“Okay,” Dorian said quickly. “I’ll go first thing in the morning.”
They were hosting a thank–you banquet, too–there was no way they had enough food without a supply
run.
Scarlett nodded, then turned to check on the mother and the baby.

The newborn was tiny, skin wrinkled and red, eyes shut tight–so weak it looked like a kitten.
Scarlett gently touched the baby’s chest and sent a thread–thin wisp of spiritual energy into its body.
It was faint–barely there–but it would slowly nourish the child from within.
Only then did Scarlett turn to leave.
When she stepped outside, the townsfolk looked at her like they weren’t sure they were allowed to speak.
Scarlett waved at Ena. “Ena, let’s go.”
Night had fallen. They needed to cook, eat–after all this, no one had even had dinner.
The mayor’s family still had the mother and baby to care for..
Walsh couldn’t understand Dragorian, but he saw Scarlett motion to his daughter and guessed anyway.
No! Ena can’t go with you. She’s my daughter. Are you trying to steal my daughter?”
He shouted at Scarlett like he could force the world to obey him.
Scarlett looked at him once. “I’m taking Ena with me tonight. In a couple of days, she’ll come back on her
>wn.”
Walsh was furious, but he knew Scarlett could crush him. Charging at her would be suicide, and he knew
So, he turned to the only leverage he had–the mayor and the crowd.
‘Help me! This outsider is unreasonable. Ena is my daughter–why can’t I take her home?
‘And Robert, she’s acting this arrogant, you need to step in! If Ena doesn’t come back, who’s going to do he work at home?”
After learning his daughter–in–law was out of danger, Robert had lit a dry tobacco pipe.
