Chapter 223 Midnight Intruder
“Really?” Scarlett felt puzzled.
She had definitely sensed that Grezeol seemed a little depressed just now.
It was not serious, just a slight unhappiness.
“Is there surveillance footage? Can I take a look?”
Forrest pulled up the security footage from the tiger enclosure.
Scarlett fast–forwarded the video, and the two of them quickly noticed something unusual.
Over the past few nights, around midnight, a figure had been sneaking into the tiger enclosure and going straight to the pond to drink water.
When Grezeol noticed it, he would roar a couple of times.
But he could not drive the figure away. Even if he chased it off, it would come back shortly after, crouching low and sneaking over to the pond to drink again.
Grezeol would get up, roar, and chase it again.
This happened many times in a single night.
After several nights of this, Grezeol seemed to realize it was useless.
Now, whenever the figure appeared, he would only let out two half–hearted roars. The figure would pause or a moment, and when it saw Grezeol was not really stopping it, it would lower its head and gulp down he water from the pond.
Forrest frowned. “What is that? It’s not the Monkey King, is it?”
The surveillance footage was not very clear.
Forrest knew that the Monkey King often ran into the tiger enclosure to drink from the pond. Grezcol had not liked it at first, but after the Monkey King did it often enough, Grezeol had stopped bothering to chase
him away.
But now there was another one?
The animal was on all fours, and its body was not small. It was definitely not the Monkey King.
It looked like some kind of leopard.
But the zoo did not have any leopards.
Could it be a wild leopard that had wandered out of the forest?
Scarlett finally understood why Grezeol seemed a little depressed.

Animals with a trace of spiritual energy could sense the energy in the pond, so they came to drink from it.
The tiger enclosure was Grezeol’s territory, and the pond belonged to him too.
Now one animal after another was coveting his pond. Of course he was unhappy and wanted to give up dealing with it.
Forrest scratched his head in confusion.
“Strange. Why do they all like running to the tiger enclosure to drink from that pond? There are several water sources in the forest.”
Scarlett was not going to tell Forrest that spiritual essence had been added to the pond.
“It’s a leopard, a wild one. Leave it alone for now,” she said.
A wild leopard could not simply be taken in by the zoo. There were procedures and permits required.
“So what do we do now?” Forrest asked.
“For now, nothing. After the zoo closes, I’ll go check on the white fox.”
It was clear that the leopard was drawn to the water in Grezeol’s enclosure.
There had been no sign of the leopard in the zoo during the day.
The zoo also had a white fox, but it did not attract many visitors.
Most of the time, it just lay lazily in its own enclosure.
At eight that night, after the zoo had closed at seven, Scarlett went to the white fox’s enclosure.
An hour later, she came out.
Forrest could not help asking, “Ms. Sanchez, have you already trained the white fox?”
“It’s done,” Scarlett replied.
In truth, she had not really done much. There was no real training involved. She had just fed the white fox some spiritual essence.
Foxes were naturally intelligent. If it could awaken awareness, that would be ideal.
She planned to feed it spiritual essence for a few days to help it develop awareness.
Animals that awakened awareness all had different personalities.
As for what kind of temperament the white fox would develop, even she did not know.
So for the next couple of days, she planned to stay at the zoo.
There was a staff lounge.

Cultivation could be done anywhere.
She had also ordered a large number of flower seedlings and seeds online.

When they arrived, she would soak the roots and seeds in water mixed with spiritual essence before planting them throughout the zoo grounds.
By then, the zoo would be surrounded by a sea of flowers.
It would become a flower garden zoo.
