Chapter 261 Scarlett Decides to Leave

“I won’t bother you again,” Scarlett said calmly. “Someone who refuses to admit mistakes shouldn’t be lecturing his students like that. I’ve decided to transfer schools.”

Even after everything that had happened, Ronald still wanted to lecture her.

He didn’t even apologize.

In truth, people like this exist in every profession.

It isn’t about the job.

It’s about the person.

Ronald was still a little stunned. After giving his earlier speech, he hadn’t really heard what Scarlett said. I replied out of habit. “Fine. Go back to your class with your teacher.”

But the other teachers and school administrators nearby had heard Scarlett clearly. The room suddenly erupted with reactions.

“Transfer schools?”

“That’s not necessary, is it? Why are you transferring schools?”

“This student has got a lot of pride. She can’t handle a little criticism. She hid her real ability from the start. If she had just done well in the beginning, none of this would have happened. Now someone says a few words to her, and she wants to transfer?”

Lulu tried to persuade her. “Scarlett, have you thought this through? Brookriver High has some of the best facilities and teachers in the city. Our college acceptance rate is among the top schools here. If you go somewhere else, it might not be as good as staying here. Everything before was just a misunderstanding. It won’t happen again.”

Other teachers began teasing Ronald.

“Mr. Mendoza, maybe you should just apologize to Scarlett. She’s about to transfer.”

Most of them believed Scarlett was only speaking out of anger.

They thought she simply wanted an apology.

After all, Ronald had accused her of cheating again yesterday the moment he saw her. So they assumed Scarlett was only forcing him to apologize, not truly planning to transfer.

Besides, transferring during senior year was troublesome.

Changing school records would be even harder.

Scarlett looked at Lulu.

“Ms. Dixon, you want me to stay for your benefit.”

Scarlett didn’t say anything else.

She simply told Lulu, “Ms. Dixon, I’ve already decided to transfer. I’ve filled out the application.”

She took out the transfer form, placed it on the table, and walked away.

The teachers stared in surprise as she left so quickly.

Was she really transferring? She wasn’t joking?

“That girl has got a lot of pride,” one teacher muttered while shaking his head.

Ronald stared at the transfer form Scarlett had left behind.

Did he really have to apologize to a student?

Was she just trying to force him to apologize?

After Scarlett left, the teachers slowly dispersed. Some returned to their offices, and others went back to teach their classes.

Lulu had another lesson next period, so she went to Class H.

Students at Brookriver High were usually quite bold. As soon as class ended, someone raised a hand.

“Ms. Dizon, is Scarlett still in the office taking the exam?”

Lulu hesitated for a moment, then answered honestly.

“Scarlett had finished the test.”

“Finished?”

The whole class was shocked.

“Was the test easy? How could she finish so fast? It’s only been two class periods!

“If she finished, why didn’t she come back to class? How did she do?”

Lulu explained, “There were six test papers. The essay and the listening section were removed. Some questions were also reduced, but the test was still difficult. Most of it covered senior–year material. There was even a very hard math problem, about the level you’d see on the SAT. She solved it correctly and scored a perfect score.

The classroom exploded.

“If she’s that good, why did she cheat back in 11th grade?”

Lulu didn’t hide the truth. “Scarlett plans to transfer schools.”

She could tell Scarlett wasn’t trying to force anyone to apologize.

Scarlett simply didn’t like this school anymore. She didn’t want to stay.

“What? Why transfer?”

“Maybe she never cheated on that 11th–grade exam. Didn’t she say that paper ball was thrown from behind and landed on her desk?”

“Yeah, I remember that. The handwriting on the paper wasn’t even hers. But the teacher found it on her desk, so they still said she cheated.”

“Oh, I get it now. She didn’t cheat but carried that reputation for a whole year. Then she quietly studied hard and suddenly shocked everyone?”

“Scarlett must really hate people at this school.”
