Chapter 318 Truth Revealed

Hazel had probably spent plenty of time around Jewel as well, casually dropping little remarks that slowly led Jewel to misunderstand Scarlett.
Without even realizing it, Jewel began to dislike her.
Scarlett didn’t say much. She formed a hand seal, chanted under her breath, bit her fingertip, and, in one smooth motion, pressed the blood–tipped finger to Jewel’s forehead.
Jewel had no time to react or dodge before Scarlett touched her forehead.
“What did you just do?”
Jewel suddenly felt as if something inside her had cleared, like a heavy weight had lifted from her chest.
It was hard to describe–she simply didn’t feel irritated when looking at Scarlett anymore.
Jewel felt confused.
What exactly is going on with me?
When Dudley saw Scarlett make her move, he immediately knew something strange had been affecting Jewel.
He glanced at Scarlett, unsure whether he should ask.
But Scarlett simply said, “It’s fine now.”
Jewel still asked blankly, “What do you mean, it’s fine? Why did you poke my forehead just now?”
Dudley finally spoke up. “Scarlett, Jewel’s alright now? Are you saying there really was something wrong with her? What exactly happened to her?”
Hearing her brother say that, Jewel finally began to react.
Did something actually happen to me?
“Dudley, what are you talking about?” Jewel said, still a little dazed. “What could’ve happened to me?”
Dudley looked at his sister and couldn’t help sighing.
“Jewel, haven’t you noticed that you’ve been kind of unlucky lately?”
“Unlucky?” Jewel paused and thought for a moment. “I guess I’ve had a bit of bad luck these past few days, but nothing serious. I just ran into a glass door when I went out with friends.”
She was too embarrassed to admit it.
And it had actually happened twice.
Her forehead still hurt a little.

Budley sighed again. Besides that, there must’ve been other unlucky things too.”
jewel thought about it. “Yeah, a few little bumps and scrapes, but nothing major. And yesterday when I went out, I twisted my ankle.”
Even now, she still walked with a slight limp.
Shirley let the siblings continue talking while she carried the baby into the bedroom to put her to sleep.
When she came back out, she invited Scarlett to sit in the living room and brought out tea, drinks, and
fruit to treat her.
Scarlett wasn’t in a hurry to leave anyway.
Meanwhile, Dudley continued explaining things to Jewel.
He told her how the rest of the family had been experiencing bad luck as well, including their uncles‘ families.
Only at the end did he mention that someone had tampered with their family tomb and placed a dark spell there.
Jewel stood there with her mouth open the entire time, looking completely stunned.
Then Dudley told her about the object they had dug out of the tomb.
And that it contained their grandparents‘ astrological charts, along with the chart of the person stealing the Macks’s fortune.
Jewel’s face instantly turned pale.
Her body trembled slightly as a realization dawned on her.
Before Dudley could even ask about their grandparents‘ astrological charts, she began stammering, “Dudle… I’m sorry, I’m so sorry. I think I might’ve been the one who leaked Grandpa and Grandma’s birth
dates.”
“Who did you tell?”
“Hazel!” Jewel cried. “I swear, it was like I was possessed or something. I didn’t think about it at all. She just said we were such good friends and that she wanted to know my grandparents‘ astrological charts so she could visit their graves with me someday.”
Dudley didn’t say anything.
Jewel slapped herself across the face twice in frustration.
“I was such an idiot,” she said miserably. “I didn’t think about it at all. I don’t know what was wrong with me -I just believed everything she said.”
Thinking back, it had been like that for the past two years. She had trusted Hazel completely, almost as if she were under some kind of spell.

Chapter 378 Truth Revealed
Even when the internet exposed Hazel for mocking her biggest fan and stealing Zayden’s fortune–leading to the beating she received–Jewel still hadn’t believed it.
But now… she was starting to.
The evidence had been right in front of her all along–Hazel had indeed mocked her biggest fan.
And now, it suddenly felt strange.
Why didn’t I think anything was wrong at the time?
Dudley sighed. “Do you know whose astrological chart was written on that sigil–the one stealing our family’s fortune?”
