Chapter 380 The Fac’s Hatred
It had never felt such hatred for a human.
Scarlett said, “That is not your concern. If you let her go, I can guarantee your survival.”
The weasel fac scoffed. “I do not believe you.”
It had no faith left in humans.
Scarlett let out a weary sigh. “Listen, I can speak with your spirit. I am not like everyone else. If I say I can keep you alive, I mean it. I am not talking about a couple of months, either. I mean for years to come. Maybe I can even find someone to honor you again. You could receive offerings, gain merit, and maybe continue your cultivation. Do you really want to waste your life by dragging some ordinary human down with you?”
The weasel fae fell silent.
The chat erupted with activity.
[Why is Scarlett so quiet? Why is she staring at Lavender’s feet?]
[Seriously, what is she doing? She has not spoken in minutes.]
[Is she communicating with the weasel fae?]
[Why can’t we see it? Scarlett keeps looking at Lavender’s feet. Is it there? So it really is the weasel fae haunting Lavender? Scarlett is keeping us in suspense.]
[She just confirmed it. Lavender is being haunted by the weasel fae. Lavender really is the worst. She destroyed its grave marker and kicked it.]
Lavender’s anxiety spiked.
“Scarlett, can you really heal me? That was not a rat? It was a weasel? The grave marker said Madam Weaselly. Was that the weasel fae? Is it angry with me? Should I go back and apologize?”
Scarlett finally met Lavender’s gaze. “That is enough. You can leave now.”
Lavender froze in place.
[What is going on? Did the weasel fae refuse to forgive her? Is she supposed to go home and wait for the end?]
[That cannot be it. Scarlett said an apology would be enough for a cure. She would not just send Lavender away to die. Maybe she already settled things with the weasel fae? Maybe it has stopped trying to get revenge?]
[Probably. But how did Scarlett communicate with the weasel fae? We never saw a thing.]
Scarlett’s words left Lavender lost.
Chapter 380 The Fae’s Hatred
Finishers
She stood silent for a long time, then stammered, “Scarlett, what does that mean? I should just go home? Does that mean I am supposed to wait for death?”
Her face drained of color. Her body wobbled.
She had just confessed everything to the world, and now Scarlett told her to go home and wait?
Scarlett looked exasperated
“No. You are safe, Go home and recover. Your skin is damaged, so go see a plastic surgeon or a doctor for
treatment.”
She meant the haunting was over.
But the physical damage would not heal by itself.
Lavender would not die, but she would need real medical help for the wounds.
Understanding dawned on Lavender.
Scarlett must have struck a deal with the thing that haunted her.
It would not bother her anymore. Her life was out of danger.
But the scars and injuries were her own burden now.
Panic crept in. “But my skin is destroyed. No doctor can fix it. You are supposed to be a genius. Can you not heal it yourself? You said you would help me.”
She knew Scarlett’s skill.
She couldn’t trust any other doctor. No one could make her skin as good as new.
But she truly believed Scarlett could do anything.
Scarlett answered, “I’ve already handled the root of it. Your skin is nothing. Any doctor can deal with it
now,”
Without giving Lavender a chance to protest, Scarlett ended the call.
Lavender stared at the black screen in her hotel room.
ustration surged. She wanted to curse Scarlett, but then she remembered the spirit might still be close.
Scarlett had spent the whole call staring at her feet.
Lavender swallowed her anger and pulled her feet up onto the couch.
Lachman stepped inside, still in disbelief.
