Chapter 411 The Seventh Driver

The last two racers were just like that rich kid before them. They sped all the way to the end, then slammed on the brakes. Neither dared to go any farther.
Seven people had joined the race. Now six had finished. Only Eustace made the jump. The other five had all given up.
Now, only Scarlett was left.
Everyone turned to look at her.
The atmosphere felt strange. Even the music had stopped. All you could hear were low whispers from the crowd.
“Finally, it’s Scarlett’s turn. I’m so excited.”
“I’m not. She’ll probably quit just like the others.”
“I don’t think so. She’s not stupid. Why would she add another 50 million to the bet if she wasn’t sure? She must have something to rely on. Her driving skills must be insane.”
“This whole canyon jump doesn’t feel exciting at all this time.”
“I actually hope it stays that way. At least no one’s died. Last time, two people didn’t make it… Sigh!”
People wanted a thrilling race, but not at the cost of someone’s life.
At least this time, no one had died.
Eustace had already driven back. He walked up to Scarlett with a cold smile.
“Scarlett, let’s see how you beat me.”
He was sure she couldn’t win.
Not just because of her skills. She didn’t have a pro tuning team. And there was the mental pressure.
He went first and made the jump.
Then five racers in a row failed.
That alone was enough to crush anyone’s nerves.
In a life–or–death race like this, no one could stay calm under that kind of pressure.
But Scarlett had already seen through him.
She raised an eyebrow. “Eustace, you think the five people before me quitting will mess with my head, right? That I’ll lose my confidence and won’t be able to stay calm?”
Eustace didn’t expect her to say it out loud.

He smirked. “Isn’t that obvious?”
Scarlett smiled brightly at him.
That smile almost made him lose focus.
He had to admit, she was stunning. Not just because of her looks, but because of her presence. She had a kind of charm that pulled people in.
If they weren’t enemies, he might’ve seriously tried to win her over.
Scarlett said softly, “Eustace, you’re going to lose this time.”
Then she turned and walked to her car.
Behind her, Simon and Tyrone shouted, “Go, Scarlett!!”
She didn’t turn back. She just lifted a hand and waved.
Then she got into the driver’s seat.
The car shot forward instantly.
Eustace barely reacted.
But his tuning team behind him frowned, uneasy.
“Mr. Eustace… her acceleration is extremely fast. It’s even 0.2 seconds faster than yours.”
That might sound small.
But over a short distance like this, 0.2 seconds made a huge difference.
Eustace frowned. “That’s impossible. How did she do that?“\
Even his team had pushed his car to the limit after months of work.
How could Scarlett’s car accelerate faster than his?
It didn’t make sense.
A faint sense of unease crept into his chest.
He could only hope she made a mistake.
If she slipped up even a little during the run, she would fail.
But all he and his team could do was watch as her car got faster and faster.
So fast it left afterimages in the air.
Eustace’s face changed completely.
