Chapter 58 Threads of Truth
[Guys, this is way too wild. I honestly don’t believe it. This feels scripted]
And how could a baby even be switched in a hospital? Only doctors and nurses can touch the baby. You can’t just swap babies in a ward. The family would have seen the baby already. If the kid looked different, wouldn’t they notice? And Scarlett said Callie’s birth mother was rich. No way she’d be in the same room as Pamela.]
[Unless a doctor or nurse did something in between, then maybe it’s possible.]
MorePastaPlease jumped in, [Hey, this woman used to be a nurse, in the maternity ward.]
[What?! So you’re saying this woman switched babies back then?]
“Do you know who my real family is?”
Callie cried as she spoke.
She didn’t want to stay in this house anymore.
She did all the chores.
Her parents hit her or yelled at her all the time. If they were in a bad mood, she got beaten.
Her brother looked down on her, cursed at her, and often kicked her.
Scarlett nodded. “Not yet. But if you trust me, I can help you read it.”
This was the thread she needed to look into. The cause. The truth behind it.
Pamela’s face went pale. She panicked and grabbed Callie, pulling her away.
“Get back here! You brat!” She shouted, using ugly words that were quickly bleeped out. “Don’t be ridiculous. You really think you’re some rich girl? You believe this fraud? Look at her! She’s barely older than you. You’re born poor; that’s your fate. Stop dreaming about being an heiress!”
Callie was dragged along, crying the whole way.

Scarlett glanced at Rick, the man she had just read for. “Hey,” she said calmly. “Can you help me? Please stop them.”
Rick froze. He hadn’t expected Scarlett to ask him.
He’d been so caught up watching the drama that he almost forgot his own problems. He

answered quickly and stepped forward, hesitating for only a second before blocking Pamela and Callie.
Daisy had been crying while watching the drama earlier.
Now she was so shocked she forgot to cry at all. When she saw her son step in, she rushed over to help.
Neighbors began to gather around.
Pamela dropped to the ground and started making a scene. “Everyone, come look! Look at this ungrateful girl! She’s already dreaming about being a rich girl! I gave birth to her; I raised her! And now she treats me like this. No shame at all!”
Some neighbors couldn’t stand it anymore.
“You raised her?” one said. “Callie’s been working since she was little. She’s always hungry. Look how badly you’ve beaten her.”
“Yeah,” another added. “No real mother treats her daughter like this. I believe the oracle now. Callie can’t be your real child. Otherwise, how could you treat her so cruelly?”
Scarlett ignored the noise. All she needed was for Pamela and Callie to be stopped.
The rest could only be handled by the police.
But the local police already knew Pamela and Callie well.
If they were called, this would be written off as another family argument.
No police officer would order a DNA test just because an oracle said a few words.
Pamela would never agree to a test. And Callie couldn’t fight her.
In the end, there was no evidence that Callie wasn’t Pamela’s daughter.
They didn’t even know who Callie’s real parents were.
Without a clear target, who would investigate?
The only real solution was to find Callie’s birth parents.
This was a live show. The news would spread. If Scarlett could follow the thread of fate and name Callie’s real parents, they would be drawn to her on their own.
Only then could this be solved.

Scarlett formed a sigil.
Her power wasn’t enough yet to clearly read the thread of fate.
She had only just begun.
