Grayson said, “Scarlett, may I take some photos? Don’t worry, I won’t photograph your face. I just want to capture your hands and study your carving technique.”
Scarlett nodded.
Grayson opened his phone and started recording.
Even though Scarlett had slowed down her carving significantly, without filming it and watching the video over and over, they still wouldn’t be able to understand it.
As Scarlett carved, she explained, “This cut uses full–round carving. This one requires relief carving and cannot be carved too deeply. Also, pay attention to the strength in your wrist…
“And when you’re learning, remember one thing–don’t rigidly follow instructions and carve stroke by stroke exactly the same way. If every cut is identical, that’s just replication.
“There isn’t a single lotus in the world that grows exactly the same as another. They all have different forms. They’re alive. The same goes for any wood carving. You have to imagine it as something living.”
Everyone listened intently and seriously.
No one interrupted Scarlett while she was speaking.
Grayson listened just as carefully.
Scarlett’s voice was gentle, yet it carried an irresistible pull.
Grayson couldn’t help but lower his gaze to look at her.
Her skin was very fair, flawless, with a faint downy softness on her cheeks, and a scar that had already faded significantly.
Her brows and eyes were impeccable, just like the carvings she created, leaving people in awe.
Grayson didn’t dare keep looking and focused his eyes on Scarlett’s hands instead.
Such slender fingers, yet they held such incredible power. With nothing more than a small knife, she could create carvings this stunning.
The wood in her hands was as obedient as tofu.
Incredible.
This time, Scarlett carved much more slowly, taking nearly half an hour.
The finished thousand–petaled lotus was passed around for everyone to admire.
It was just as lifelike.
Exceptionally beautiful.

Grayson even deliberately compared the two wooden lotus flowers.
The petals were completely different.
The only thing they shared was how breathtaking they were.
So beautiful that no one wanted to look away.
Scarlett said, “You’ve recorded the video. If you want to learn woodcarving, you can start by practicing on your own.”
Grayson scratched his head and said, “We’ll practice when we get back, but we’re all architecture students. We’ve studied wooden structures, but our woodcarving skills are pretty average.”
In truth, carving techniques were part of architectural studies as well.
But their creative carving skills were honestly quite mediocre.
Scarlett said nothing more and continued carving the next thousand–petaled lotus.
The others didn’t dare disturb her again.
Instead, they went off to discuss how to restore the main tower.
Sophia had already printed out the restoration plan Scarlett sent her.
One copy for each person.
The rest began discussing how to repair the main structure of the wooden tower.
Everyone focused on their own tasks.
Norman discussed things further with Sophia and called in many more people.
These were all specialists familiar with wooden architecture. With everyone helping, the tower could be mostly restored within a week.
The wooden tower stood 160 feet tall.
Scaffolding still had to be erected.
The entire morning was spent busy with these tasks.
Meanwhile, Scarlett carved more than ten lotus flowers in just one morning.
Every single one was as beautiful as the first.
Each was different, each deeply moving.
Everyone was utterly astonished.
The way they looked at Scarlett changed noticeably.

Some master woodcarvers might not be able to carve a lotus like this even after several days.
Ten minutes–what kind of concept was that? It was terrifying, almost inhuman.
After finishing the lotus in her hands, Scarlett stood up and stretched.
It was already noon, time to get some lunch.
She glanced at the progress on the wooden tower. It seemed a national engineering team had been brought in, but they had only just finished setting up the framework.
Scarlett turned her head and noticed Selina was there as well.
She looked a little dazed, staring blankly at Scarlett.
Scarlett walked over and patted Selina on the shoulder. “Selina, what are you doing here?”
Selina hadn’t fully snapped out of it and replied instinctively, “Grandpa insisted on coming to see you, so
we came.”
She had heard over the phone that Scarlett was repairing a tower.
But she hadn’t thought much of it.
Only after arriving did she realize how difficult this wooden tower was to restore. It was practically on the verge of collapse.
But when she saw Scarlett sitting there, surrounded by wood shavings, carving one lifelike lotus after another, she was completely stunned.
Not just her–her grandfather too.
Grandfather and granddaughter stood there dumbly, watching Scarlett carve wood.
They watched like that for over an hour.
“Hello, Billy,” Scarlett greeted him.
“Hello, hello,” Billy replied, his mind in complete disarray.
This young woman had said she could refine medicine, which already implied extraordinary medical skill.
Yet the wood carvings she produced were even more captivating than the high–value carvings he had collected over the years.
And at such unbelievable speed.
Ten minutes!
What kind of genius is this?
Scarlett smiled and said, “Selina, it’s lunchtime now. Let’s go eat first.”
