Jasper was already fast asleep in Lance’s arms.
When they got out of the car and started heading inside the villa, Lance suddenly remembered something. He turned to Aaron. “Take Felice home.”
Aaron nodded. “Yes, sir.”
Felice, who’d been ready to follow them, stopped in her tracks, clearly stunned. “Lance, what’s that supposed to mean?”
She rushed forward, panic in her voice. “If Jasper wakes up and I'm not there, he’ll cry. I need to stay with him.”
Lance looked straight at her, his eyes cold, his voice even colder. “If he cries, I’ll bring him to you.”
Felice clenched her hands into tight fists. She really thought she could spend the night here tonight.
“Miss Felice, this way, please.” Aaron had already opened the car door for her.
Felice stubbornly refused to budge. “I’m not leaving. I’m waiting for my son to wake up.”
Aaron glanced at Lance, unsure what to do.
Lance looked away, his tone flat. “Do whatever you want.”
And with that, he walked into the villa courtyard. The main gate slammed shut behind him.
Felice was locked out.
One by one, the bodyguards left. The night grew silent, colder, the air damp with dew.
Felice hugged herself, shivering. She stayed put, fists clenched, refusing to leave. If she did, Lance would definitely try to take Jasper away for good. She was sure of it. She wasn’t going to let that happen.
Felice lowered her gaze, her thoughts heavy. Jasper, please... be strong for me, okay?

The next day at the office, Nathalie noticed Gavin had a bandage on his forehead. As soon as he spotted her, he asked, “How’re you holding up?”
Actually, scratch that. It was probably a cute little family day, all smiles and happiness.
Nathalie gave a dry, mocking smile and took a sip of water.
Just then, her phone started ringing. She glanced down and saw Lance’s name on the screen.
She hung up immediately and blocked his number.
Moments later, there was a knock on the door. “Nathalie, someone’s here to see you.”
Nathalie frowned and walked out of the recording studio. There, at her desk, was Lance himself.
He actually came here? Weren’t you supposed to be with your precious nephew, she thought.
Why was he here, getting in her way at work?
Nathalie’s annoyance was obvious. She shot him an unhappy look and marched toward the exit. Lance stood up and followed her out.
