Chapter 418
Lawrence reached a hand out toward Nathalie, his blue eyes curving in a smile that seemed to dance with hidden intent.
Lance smoothly intercepted the hand, his voice flat. “My wife. Nathalie.”
Lawrence paused, then broke into a wildly exaggerated grin, his entire face stretching into a theatrical mask of delight.
“Ah, so this is your wife! The famous Ms. Blair. I’ve heard so much about you. It’s a pleasure to finally meet you.”
As he spoke, his gaze roamed over Nathalie’s face with blatant, unrestrained interest. Ignoring Lance’s rapidly darkening expression, Lawrence stared at her as if she were a rare, priceless commodity on an auction block.
It made Nathalie’s skin crawl. Her brows pulled together, and she met his gaze with a cold, piercing glare of her own.
Lawrence burst into a booming laugh. “Wow, Mrs. Lance has quite the temper! No one has ever dared to look at me like that.”
He leaned in closer, dropping his voice to a playful, dangerous whisper. “Do you know what happened to the last person who looked at me like that?”
He curled his fingers into a claw, a manic thrill lighting up his blue eyes. “I gouged his eyes right out of his skull!”
“Ah!”
The next second, a blood-curdling scream ripped from Lawrence’s throat.
Lance had grabbed Lawrence’s outstretched finger and brutally snapped it backward.
Lawrence’s face twisted in fury. “Lance, you son of a bitch! How dare you!”
Lance stood his ground, his dark eyes freezing over, his presence radiating absolute lethal authority. “Your parents gave you a polite name, but you clearly have no manners. You’re scaring my wife.”
wrence was trembling with rage, a dark storm brewing in his blue eyes. He looked down at h oken finger and snarled, “Ten million dollars.”
Lance ised an eyebrow. “Show some respect to my wife, or I’ll gladly pay a hundred million dollars all ten of your fingers.”
Lawrenc coffed, turning on his heel and slouching back onto the sofa.
Lance to Nathalie’s hand, his voice instantly softening. “Don’t be afraid.”

Chapter 418
Nathalie swallowed hard. “Is he a psycho?”
“Yeah, you could say that,” Lance murmured.
As the leader of the second-largest mercenary syndicate in the world, Lawrence was genuinely out of his mind. His legendary rise to power involved dismembering his half-siblings, leaving only their torsos to be strung up on giant fishing hooks as a birthday present for their father.
He was ruthless, sadistic, and completely unpredictable. A bad mood could easily end in a bloodbath.
But he also loved money.
If the price was right, he would do anything.
Lance pulled Nathalie down onto the sofa beside him and murmured in her ear, “His organization, the Eagle Organization, took the contract to assassinate you.”
A chill shot down Nathalie’s spine, and she looked at Lawrence with newly ignited dread. Lawrence didn’t even flinch as a bodyguard expertly splinted and taped his broken finger.
He watched the couple whispering to each other, his manic energy suddenly vanishing into a hollow, empty stare. “That’s exactly how that scumbag deceived her,” he muttered quietly. Hearing this, Lance’s brows furrowed. “Let’s talk price.”
