Chapter 420
Nathalie frowned and cast a nervous glance over her shoulder at Lawrence. “Are we not going to finish negotiating?” she whispered.
“His mind is filthy. There’s nothing to negotiate,” Lance said, his tone chilling. “Let’s go get some food.”
Nathalie thought about Lawrence’s completely unhinged behavior and felt a shiver of fear. She nodded quickly. “Okay.”
The two of them walked straight out of the room.
Bagot, who had been aggressively trying to blend into the furniture the entire time, quickly stood up to leave as well.
“Hey, hold on a second,” Lawrence called out.
Bagot turned around, dread pooling in his stomach. “Is there something else you need, Lawrence?”
Lawrence tilted his head and asked, “Do all the girls in Altair look like her?”
Bagot remembered the insane things Lawrence had just spewed at Nathalie. Did this guy completely lack experience with local women?
“Is this your first time in Altair?” Bagot asked quickly. “We have a ton of incredible places to see. Since you’re here, why don’t I arrange a proper tour for you? The local guides here are top-tier.”
Lawrence nodded enthusiastically. “Yeah, I’d love that.”
She had been from this country.
But she died before she ever got the chance to return.
She was always so fragile, holding him tight and whispering stories about her homeland.
Now that he was finally here, he wanted to see exactly what made this place so special to
her.

“I’ll have a car bring you to the hospital. Right this way,” Bagot offered.
“Lead the way.”
Lawrence followed him out of the private room.
When the elevator doors pinged open, they stepped inside, only to find Damaris leaning against the back wall.
Bagot raised an eyebrow. “What are you doing here?”
Damaris crossed her arms and glared at him. “None of your business.”
Bagot pressed the lobby button. The heavy metal doors slid shut, making the small space feel suffocatingly tight.
“Don’t tell me you were on another blind date? At a club, in the middle of the night?”
“Back off!” Damaris snapped. She was already in a foul mood after enduring a disastrous blind date with a total creep, and running into Bagot just felt like the universe was punishing
her.
As far as she was concerned, Bagot and Lance were cut from the same cloth-both arrogant jerks!
Bagot wasn’t phased in the slightest. He grinned easily. “Why don’t we just get married? It would stop your family from dragging you to these awful dates, and my parents won’t stop nagging me either. We could just settle for each other.”
