The Unwavering Heart That Broke (Nathalie and Lance) novel Chapter 427

Leaning against the headboard, Lance’s expression darkened as he listened to her words.

His gaze fell on her body, ultimately landing on her flat stomach.

After a long moment, he threw off the covers and got out of bed.

Nathalie’s consciousness was a hazy mess. Once his presence left her side, she quickly fell’fast asleep.

When she woke up again, it was already two in the afternoon. She had slept through almost the entire day.

She groggily sat up, feeling an intense soreness in her waist and legs. She cursed Lance in her head a good few times for being an absolute beast.

After taking a shower, she felt much cleaner and more comfortable. She checked the nightstand, but there was no Plan B.

Her brows furrowed. Had he not heard what she said?

She lowered her eyes slightly. Or maybe he heard her, but just didn’t want to do it.

Nathalie walked out of the bedroom. The man’s deep, magnetic voice echoed from the living room, discussing corporate matters.

Nathalie didn’t understand any of it. She leaned over the railing to glance down and saw several men in sharp suits sitting on the sofa, typing notes on their laptops.

He had brought the meeting all the way here.

Just as Nathalie was about to retract her gaze, Lance in the living room seemed to sense her presence and looked right up at her.

Their eyes met.

She immediately looked away, walked down the stairs, and headed straight for the door.

Where are you going?

Lance’s deep voice came from behind.

Nathalie’s tone was flat. To see my grandmother.

Lance said, I’m almost done. I’ll go with you.

Nathalie said, No need. Just send someone to follow me.

I’m not comfortable with that.

After saying that, Lance issued a few instructions to the other men and then announced, Meeting dismissed.

The men were very tactful. They packed up their things and left one by

one.

As they walked past Nathalie, they even politely greeted her.

Hello, ma’am.

Goodbye, ma’am.

Nathalie’s expression remained indifferent. When Lance stood up and walked over, his face was somewhat pale.

He had gone too hard in the early hours of the morning, tearing open many of his wounds, yet he hadn’t cared at all. She hadn’t bothered to ask how he dealt with them afterward.

Nathalie looked away and said, Following me around, aren’t you afraid of dying?

Lance replied, I’ve already collected my payment. Naturally, I have to provide full service.

Nathalie:

Her small face turned cold as she walked briskly forward.

The driver pulled the car around, and she got straight into the passenger

seat.

Seeing this, the driver froze. Ma’am

Are we going or not?

Nathalie asked coldly, If we aren’t, I’m getting out.

The driver immediately looked at Lance. Boss, this

Drive.

Lance sat in the backseat. Seeing Nathalie’s icy expression, he didn’t bother arguing over the seating arrangement.
