Chapter 475

Nathalie stared at the gun, a spark of determination lighting up her eyes. It was completely foreign to her, but she was ready to learn. Taking a deep breath, she picked it up. It wasn’t too heavy. She turned it over in her hands, inspecting it carefully.

Lance stepped closer. “To shoot well, you need to understand your weapon. I’ll teach you how to strip it and reassemble it so you know exactly how it works. Know your weapon, know your enemy, and you’ll never lose.”

She looked at him, surprised. “When did you learn all of this?”

‘Just a personal hobby,” Lance replied smoothly.

She didn’t believe him for a second, but she didn’t care enough to press he issue. If he was willing to teach her, she would learn. Every skill she gained was hers to keep.

_ance’s instructions were precise and detailed, and she absorbed every word. After a few hands-on attempts, she had a solid grasp of the gun’s nechanics. Next came the actual shooting. It wasn’t a skill she could master in a day; it required relentless practice. Fortunately, time was the ɔne thing Nathalie had plenty of.

Two days later, Lance drove her out to a sprawling estate on the outskirts of the city. Hidden within the gardens was a heavy steel door leading down to a massive underground facility. The guards standing watch were mposing and completely stoic. Their cold stares made Nathalie tense, out she kept her gaze straight ahead.

They stopped in front of a locked room. A guard gave Lance a respectful nod before unlocking the door.

The faint, metallic scent of blood hung heavily in the air. Nathalie stepped inside and saw Fabian suspended from the ceiling by his wrists. His head hung low, and he looked entirely battered, his clothes torn and

stained.

The sheer brutality of the sight hit her hard, draining the color from her face. She struggled to process the violence of it.

Lance wrapped a steadying arm around her shoulders. “Just teaching him a lesson. He tried to kill you. The fact that I didn’t end him immediately is an act of mercy.”

Nathalie forced down her nausea and stepped further into the room.

Hearing the movement, Fabian weakly lifted his head. When he saw who it was, a gruesome, cracked smile stretched across his face. “Nathalie… long time no see.”

She looked at him with sheer disgust. “Who hired you to kill me?”

Fabian ignored the question. He coughed violently, struggling for breath, before rasping, “I still remember… back in college, the way you used to stand outside our dorm, waiting so eagerly for him…”

Lance’s expression darkened.

Nathalie frowned in confusion. “That was years ago. Why bring it up

now?”

“Yeah. Years ago,” Fabian murmured. “Everything’s changed…” He stared at her, his gaze heavy with a strange sense of regret. “I can’t tell you…”
