The Unwavering Heart That Broke (Nathalie and Lance) novel Chapter 541

Arthur Crawford waved his hand dismissively and turned on his heel, striding out of the wedding venue. Eleanor Crawford had fainted and needed to be rushed to the hospital.

Lawrence's men had cleared out, and the remaining guests fled the scene as if running for their lives.

A helicopter waited on the roof. Lawrence dragged Damaris aboard, and moments later, they were airborne. The world below rapidly shrank into insignificance.

Damaris pressed herself against the window, staring down. Her face was deathly pale, her eyes wide with a suffocating blend of uncertainty and terror.

A rough hand seized her chin, forcing her to turn and meet the man's striking blue eyes.

He stared at her with predatory obsession. "From now on, you stay right by my side and behave. Do you understand?"

Trembling, Damaris nodded. "If I'm good... will you let me go home to see my parents?" she asked in a small voice.

"Of course."

Lawrence flashed a twisted grin. "If you miss them that much, I'll bring them to our estate. They can stay with you forever."

His tone was gentle, but the underlying threat was unmistakable.

A violent shudder ran through Damaris's body.

Lawrence's gaze dropped to her wedding dress. A sudden, violent hostility flared in his expression, and he reached out, mercilessly ripping the delicate fabric of the gown.

"Ah!"

Damaris shrieked, desperately crossing her arms to cover herself.

"I hate this dress. You were almost someone else's bride," Lawrence said coldly. His mood swings were volatile, his demeanor shifting faster than a violent storm.

"Take it off."

It was a hard, non-negotiable command.

Damaris shivered, her terror mounting to a suffocating peak. "But I don't have any clothes here."
