Chapter 667
Chapter 667
Elara was a woman of action; once she made a decision, there was no looking back.
She immediately started packing her bags.
There were no more flights out today, so they would have to leave the next morning
She broke the news to Mrs. Gable.
Worry instantly clouded the older woman’s face. “Ellie, I really don’t want you to go.”
Elara hugged her tightly. “Mrs. Gable, you know how agonizing these past few years have been for me. I have to try. It’s the only way I can do right by them.”
Mrs. Gable wiped her tears. “But what if something happens to you? What will I do?”
Elara flashed a wide grin. “I promise I’ll be fine. Even if I fail, I’ll drag myself back here, and we’ll just rely on each other.”
Mrs. Gable stayed silent.
If only things were that simple.
Elara squeezed her again. “Come on, just hold the fort here and wait for me to come back. What if I succeed? Our lives will be amazing! I’ll find a boyfriend, have a few kids, and you can help me raise
them. How does that sound?”
Mrs. Gable turned away. “You just know how to sweet-talk me. I’m going to finish dinner.”
When Elara set her mind to something, no one could change it.
No matter how terrified Mrs. Gable was, she could only endure it silently and wait for her return.

When the acupuncture session ended, Elara carefully removed the needles from Nathalie.
She then brought over a bowl of herbal medicine and handed it to her. “Drink all of this. We’ll check on your condition tomorrow morning.”
Nathalie nodded, took the bowl, and downed it in one go.
That evening, Mrs. Gable prepared a massive feast. Looking at the heavily built Nicol, she couldn’t help but say, “Our Ellie only knows how to heal people; she doesn’t have any other skills. I hope she can help you all, but I also beg you to protect her.”
Nicol immediately stood up and nodded. “Rest assured, ma’am. We will protect her with our lives. She won’t suffer a single scratch.”
Mrs. Gable’s tears started falling again. “Thank you so much. Please, please keep her safe.”
This was essentially a suicide mission.
Though Mrs. Gable’s heart was entirely against it, she forced herself to hold back.
Watching this exchange, Nathalie felt a pang of envy.

Chapter 667
Elara was so incredibly lucky to have family who cared for her this much.
Elara remained quiet, wolfing down her food. Noticing they hadn’t touched their silverware, she mumbled with a full mouth, “Eat up, guys. Mrs. Gable’s cooking is top-tier. Once we leave, you won’t get to taste this again. Don’t say I didn’t warn you.”
Her casual remark instantly cut through the heavy atmosphere at the table.
The men picked up their forks, and their eyes lit up after the first bite.
