Chapter 685
A heavy silence fell over the room. No one answered Elara’s question.
Looking utterly bewildered, she glanced around before finally turning to Nathalie. “Nat, what exactly happened?”
Nathalie pressed her lips into a thin line and typed on her phone, [Damaris is his wife.]
“Holy shit!”
Elara let out another cry of shock.
Her face twisted in disbelief. “That’s insane. I knew that psycho would eventually do something even crazier, but I never expected him to steal someone else’s wife.”
Unable to hold back, Aaron chimed in with a question of his own. “Dr. Lane, you seem to know a lot about Mr, Lawrence.”
Elara’s face scrunched up in disgust, “My parents warned me about him, and then I saw him those two times. I stay far, far away from people like that.”
She tapped her chin thoughtfully. “But I’ve never seen him with a woman before, nor have I ever heard of him having one. Though, there was a rumor that a woman tried to climb into his bed, and he stripped her naked and tossed her straight into the slums…”
Her expression shifted as she spoke, an undeniable, visceral revulsion for the man coloring her features.
“Someone like him is the most vicious, sadistic, and deranged creature alive. He has almost zero humanity.” Elara looked at Nathalie, her voice dropping to a whisper. “If your friend Damaris is in his hands, I truly can’t imagine what she’s going through…”
Nathalie grew even paler.
Chapter 685
“That’s enough out of you,” Lance cut in coldly.
Elara rolled her eyes. “I’m just telling the truth. Why try to hide it?”
The room lapsed back into silence.
Nathalie turned on her heel and walked out.
“Nat, where are you going?” Elara asked, caught off guard.
Nathalie held up her phone. [I’m going for a walk. Don’t follow me.]
Elara froze in her tracks, not daring to push her luck.
Aaron cast a complicated look toward Lance. Half of the striking man’s face was wrapped in white gauze, making it impossible to read his thoughts.
Across the ocean.
The sea breeze swept over a coastal castle where everything operated in pristine, suffocating order.
In an excessively lavish bedroom, Damaris lay bare on the bed. A solid gold chain was secured around her wrist, its outer edge studded with dazzling, blinding diamonds.
She opened her eyes, immediately meeting a pair of mesmerizing blue ones. When the man realized she was awake, he offered her an angelic
smile.
“Baby, you’re awake? Are you hungry? I specially learned how to cook Chinese food. They’re all your favorites. Why don’t you try some?”
