Chapter 687

“Mmph!”

Overwhelmed, Damaris felt her lungs burning and her throat aching. She shoved at him frantically, her nails dragging across his neck and leaving bloody streaks in their wake.

Lawrence didn’t back down. He kissed her with an all-consuming frenzy, losing himself entirely.

He only released her when her struggling completely ceased, yanking her into a crushing embrace.

“You won’t do it. You’re going to fall in love with me. You will definitely fall in love with me.”

She gasped for air, stars dancing across her vision. She felt like she could die at any second!

This monster!

Fall in love with him?!

Not in this life, not in the next, not ever!

Lawrence’s moods swung wildly, vanishing as quickly as they appeared. A radiant smile soon returned to his face as he picked out a light pink silk maxi dress for her. While he dressed her, his eyes darkened, and his Adam’s apple bobbed uncontrollably.

“Baby, you are stunning.”

He couldn’t resist pressing a kiss to the back of her hand. “You are the most beautiful Oriental Doll I have ever laid eyes on.”

His exclusive, perfect Oriental Doll.

She coldly yanked her hand away. “Why don’t you just die?”

Unfazed, he simply took her hand again and led her out of the bedroom,

heading straight to the dining hall on that floor.

The square dining table was laden with Chinese dishes. When the maids removed the warming covers, a spread of mouth-watering food was revealed to her.

Lawrence pulled out a chair for her and handed her a fork. “Baby, have a taste.”

She remained silent, picking at her food in a muted daze. The moment the food hit her tongue, a suffocating wave of sorrow crashed over her.

She missed home.

She missed her mom.

Mrs. White might have constantly set her up on blind dates, acting as though she were an old maid, but she truly cared for her daughter.

She cooked Damaris’s favorite meals every day, frequently bought her new outfits, and indulged her every passing whim.

Her vision blurred. Without swallowing a single bite, tears spilled down her cheeks like broken strings of pearls.

“Baby, what’s wrong? Why are you crying?” Lawrence had been watching her in nervous anticipation, waiting for her verdict, but her sudden tears threw him into a panic.

He loved it when she cried-but only when they were in bed!

Any other time, he preferred her smiles, her vibrant anger, her lively spark He carefully wiped her tears away. “Baby, don’t cry. Does the food taste awful? Then we won’t eat it.”

He snapped his head toward the staff, bellowing furiously. “Throw it all away!”

The maids didn’t dare hesitate. They rushed forward and cleared every

He tightened his grip on her. “Okay, okay, it’s terrible. We won’t eat it. I promise, we won’t eat it.”
