Chapter 705
His large hand enveloped Nathalie’s much smaller one. With undeniable dominance, his long fingers slipped between hers, curling tightly until their hands were perfectly locked together.
Nathalie was completely speechless.
This man always pulled these shameless little stunts. And right now, she couldn’t struggle or move an inch without risking the needles shifting out of their precise pressure points.
If that happened, she’d be the one suffering.
Nathalie opted to close her eyes and pretend his subtle movements weren’t happening.
To Lance, this was as good as absolute permission.
He grew bolder, his thumb rhythmically caressing the back of her hand. Feeling the cool, soft warmth of her palm, his heart felt completely full.
Elara stood by, watching the exchange for a few moments before it finally clicked. Her face immediately darkened.
She purposefully applied more force on the next needle, making sure Lance actually felt a sharp sting.
Yet Lance didn’t even flinch. He didn’t so much as furrow his brow. He simply tightened his grip on Nathalie’s hand and continued his pathetic act. “Nat, it hurts.”
Elara wanted to scream.
Unbelievable!
By trying to punish him, she had only given him exactly what he wanted!
Absolutely ridiculous.
Chapter 705
Two days later, it was time for discharge.
Most of Lance’s physical wounds had healed. His eyes were now the only major hurdle.
Aaron brought a fresh set of clothes, setting them near Lance’s hand. “Boss, do you need help changing?”
“No need.”
Lance rejected him coldly before asking, “Where’s Nat?”
“Mrs. Adams is speaking with the doctor,” Aaron replied.
Lance simply sat down. “When she comes back, tell her to come help
me.”
“Understood.”
Nathalie returned shortly after. Aaron immediately approached her. “Mrs. Adams, I have some urgent matters to attend to. The Boss is changing his clothes inside. Could you check if he needs a hand?”
With that, he practically sprinted away.
Nathalie pushed the door open and walked in. She found Lance bending over, blindly fumbling with his shirt, looking entirely incapable of figuring out where the collar or the sleeves were.
It was a strangely pathetic, sight that gave her an unexpected pang of sympathy.
She walked over, caught his hand, and wrote on his palm: [I’ll help you.]
Lance’s fingers curled slightly. “It’s fine. I can do it myself.”
He turned his head and went back to fumbling.
“If I can’t even manage something this simple, doesn’t that just make me useless?” Lance muttered as he fumbled. His tone was perfectly flat,

betraying no strange emotions.
But Nathalie felt a sharp sting in her chest.
She watched as he finally located the collar, lifted the shirt, but continued to struggle with threading his arms into the sleeves.
She reached out, snatched the shirt from his hands, and pulled out her phone to type. “Are you planning on leaving in your hospital gown?”
