“I want to serve Uncle Lance too!” Jasper announced. He picked up his own favorite dish and dropped it straight into Lance’s bowl.

Staring at Lance with big, earnest eyes, he asked, “Uncle Lance, do you need someone to feed you?”

Lance smirked. “No, you just focus on feeding yourself.”

“I can feed myself, and I can take care of Uncle Lance too! I’m a big boy

now!” Jasper declared.

His voice was still sweet and childish, yet it carried an adorable air of responsibility.

“Yeah, you’re doing great, Jasper.”

Lance didn’t hold back his praise.

Jasper beamed. “So when is the robotic dog arriving?”

Lance raised an eyebrow. So that was the endgame.

Smart kid.

“You’ll see it tomorrow.”

“Yay!” Jasper cheered, already dreaming about what the robotic dog would look like.

The tension at the dinner table finally began to thaw.

After the meal, Madonna spoke up. “Lance, let’s have a staff member sleep in your room tonight. You and Nathalie should sleep separately for now. One of you is blind, and the other can’t speak-you can’t possibly take care of each other. I really think it’s for the best.”
