Everyone turned to look. Lance appeared to be choking violently, his face flushing deep re down to his neck as he coughed into his napkin.

Nathalie immediately reached over, gently rubbing his back to soothe his airway. It took h a moment to catch his breath. When he finally did, his hand shot out, grasping hers tightly “I’m full. Could you take me back to the room, please?”

Nathalie nodded, helping him stand and guiding him toward the elevator.

Elara watched his retreating back and let out a derisive snort. The second the elevator do slid shut, she muttered, “Manipulative jerk.”

Adelaide chuckled softly. “They aren’t divorced yet, dear. He still cares deeply for Nathalie, it’s only natural he can’t stomach the thought of her moving on.”

Elara crossed her arms. “I don’t doubt that he loves her, but that doesn’t change the fact tha he ripped her heart out. I just hope Nathalie doesn’t end up back with him.”

Adelaide looked at her with mild surprise. “Do you know the details of what happened between them?”

“Not all of it,” Elara admitted. “But the little I do know is enough to make my blood boil. If m husband ever hurt me for the sake of another woman, I would ruin his life!”

Indignation radiated from her. She looked as if she wanted to march upstairs and hack Lanc into pieces herself.

Adelaide smiled gently. “Matters of the heart are complicated, my dear. Only the two people involved can truly sort out the mess. As outsiders, it’s best we don’t interfere. Where their path leads is entirely up to them.”

Elara gave a muffled grumble, clearly disagreeing with the older woman’s philosophy, though she didn’t argue further.

In her mind, Nathalie was perfect-beautiful, kind, and incredibly gentle. She deserved to be cherished and worshipped, not tossed aside.

Lance was nothing but a toxic bastard who didn’t deserve to breathe the same air as her!

Stepping out of the elevator and into the master bedroom, Nathalie guided Lance to the edge of the bed. She pulled out her phone to type a message, but Lance immediately reached out and enveloped her hand in his.

She looked down at him, her brow furrowing in confusion.
