Chapter 28 Call the Parents In

Harlan was truly furious after getting slapped.

The way he looked at Larissa now, it was like she’d just become his sworn enemy.

She’d embarrassed him in front of everyone. There was no way he was letting this slide.

He was determined to get back at her.

If she wanted to cut him off, fine–he’d make sure she paid for it.

Harlan gritted his teeth.

“Larissa, you better explain yourself right now, or I’ll make sure you can’t show your face in all of Eldercrown!”

Larissa folded her arms, smirking coldly.

“Explain myself? What about everything you’ve done to me–don’t you think I deserve an explanation for that?

“You think just because you’re one of the Turners, you get to bully people and never have to say you’re sorry?

“And now you want me out of Marcrest?

“You really think you’ve got what it takes?

“You’re not getting rid of me. In fact, you couldn’t even get me kicked out of Marcrest High if you tried.”

“All right, Larissa, let’s see if you’re really that bold. Just watch–I’m going to make it happen.”

Right now, Harlan was looking at Larissa like she was his rival.

He knew he couldn’t beat her in a fight, but she’d just slapped him and Julia in front of everyone. All he needed was a little pressure to get her expelled from Marcrest High.

If she refused to play nice, he wasn’t going to hold back.

She was just an orphan with no connections–how could she possibly think she could take him on?

If she’d still been the old Larissa, always eager to please him, he might have let it go.

But now, after the way she’d humiliated him, he was determined to get her out of Marcrest High for good.

The commotion quickly drew the attention of both the Class A and Class C homeroom teachers.

Chloe, the Class A teacher, saw it was Larissa again and felt a headache coming on.

Yesterday’s drama was still fresh in her mind.

Chapter 28 Call the Parents In

Larissa was just trouble–not someone she wanted to mess with.

She had connections way above Chloe’s pay grade.

There was nothing she could do.

The last thing Chloe wanted was to get dragged into another public apology.

She’d always known Larissa was a handful. Thank goodness she wasn’t handling Class A anymore, or Chloe would’ve been losing sleep.

The Turners weren’t any easier to handle–Julia and Harlan were top students, and she didn’t want them. getting treated unfairly, either.

This was way above a homeroom teacher’s job.

So, she called in the dean.

When the dean showed up and saw the situation, he just felt his head throb. None of these kids were people he could afford to mess with.

With no other choice, the whole mess ended up in front of Marcrest High’s principal, Tom.

Tom walked in, stroking his white beard, feeling like the stress was shaving years off his life.

He really wanted to say, Can’t you people keep your family business behind closed doors?

Why did they always drag him into mess like it?

He was the principal of a top high school, and this what they paid him to deal with–high school drama?

“Get your parents in. My advice is to settle this peacefully. If this blows up, it won’t be good for anyone.”

“I agree. Let’s call the parents.”

Harlan looked pleased with himself.

Larissa was just an orphan. What parents could she possibly have?

The only reason she was even here was because she slept her way in with Mr. Sowle.

Would Mr. Sowle really stick his neck out for something so embarrassing?

Once he realized she was nothing but trouble, he’d toss her aside.

And once Larissa lost her protector, kicking her out of school–or even out of Marcrest–would be a piece

of cake.

Larissa didn’t object.

Not long after, Morris showed up in the principal’s office.
