Right after that, a flood of large digital gift notifications appeared in the group chat.

Russ explained, “Larissa, don’t be scared. This is just how we do things here. If you accept them, everyone will be really happy.”
Larissa had never been treated with this kind of warmth before.
To avoid any awkwardness, she didn’t accept the gifts.
When Russ brought Larissa back to the Sowle Estate, she was surprised to see that their house was in a wealthy neighborhood.
Only the rich and powerful could afford to live here. Even the Turners didn’t qualify to move in.
The car stopped in front of Sowle Estate.
Russ got out first and then opened the door for Larissa.
Meanwhile, Ruby and Leonard had been waiting at the door.
The moment they saw Larissa, they rushed forward, full of excitement.
Ruby’s eyes were red as she looked at her. She wanted to move closer but didn’t dare, so she stood carefully in place and said, “Larissa … is it really you? Welcome home! Can I … hug you?”
Larissa looked at the woman in front of her. Her eyes were red, and her face was full of hope. A strange but warm feeling rose in Larissa’s heart. She nodded gently and said in a soft voice, “Yes, you can.”
Ruby could no longer hold back her tears. They rolled down her face as she hurried forward and pulled Larissa into a tight hug. Her voice shook as she said, “My girl, you’re finally home.”
Leonard stood to the side with tears in his eyes, too. He reached out and gently patted Larissa on the shoulder.

Just then, Nelson and Gavin came rushing out of the house too, surrounding Larissa in the middle.
Gavin smiled and said, “Larissa, from now on, you’ve got all your brothers backing you. If anyone dares to bully you, we’ll be the first to deal with them!”
The others quickly agreed.
Surrounded by all this warmth and care, Larissa felt her nose sting, and tears filled her eyes.
She had never thought that after getting a second chance at life, she could have a home this warm.
With everyone around her, Larissa walked through the front doors of Sowle Estate.
Ruby led Larissa to the room that had already been prepared for her. The room was carefully decorated, full of a young girl’s warmth and life. A wave of warmth surged through Larissa’s heart.
Back at Turner Estate, she had her own room before she turned ten.
Later, after she came back from Ravenmind Island, she was only allowed to live in the basement.
Her old room had been turned into Julia’s violin room.
She wasn’t even allowed to have a room of her own.
Ruby said softly, “Larissa, this room has been yours since the day you were born.
“If there’s anything you don’t like, you can tell me. We can change it however you want. These are also the birthday gifts we’ve given you every year. I’m so sorry I didn’t keep a close eye on you before and let you get lost. But thankfully, you’re back now.”
Larissa looked at the row of gifts. There were at least sixty, all in beautiful gift boxes.
“These clothes were sent by the brands this afternoon. Some are still being customized and will arrive later. If you don’t like any of them, I can take you shopping tomorrow and you can pick whatever you
want…”
Ruby spoke carefully, worried her daughter might not like the gifts.
From the first moment she saw Larissa, Ruby knew this was her long–lost daughter.
Seeing her pale, thin body and the faded clothes she wore, Ruby felt a deep, aching pain.
It was hard to imagine what kind of life Larissa had lived before coming home, and why she had become so frail.
Her face was pale and fragile, which made Ruby’s heart ache even more.
She couldn’t understand why Larissa had only a phone with her–no luggage at all. What kind of life had she been living before?
Just thinking about all the hardships Larissa might have suffered out of sight made Ruby ache inside. Larissa looked at the bright, stylish clothes. The tags hadn’t even been removed. The fabrics were soft, and

it was obvious they were expensive.
This family seemed to treat her well.
At dinner, the whole family sat down together.
Because Larissa had returned, everyone had gathered unusually carly.

Leonard said, “Larissa, Carter and Andrew are busy out of town, and Isaac isn’t feeling well. So tonight. only Russ, Nelson, and Gavin are here. When the others come back, I’ll introduce them to you.”
Ruby placed a piece of rib onto Larissa’s plate.
“Larissa, from now on, this is your home. I hope you can settle in soon. If you ever run into trouble, just tell me. We will always be your strongest support,” she said.
Russ followed suit, putting a piece of pork roast onto Larissa’s plate, and said, “Larissa, I’m your second brother. From now on, tell me if anything happens. I will support you and protect you, no matter what happens.”
Nelson and Gavin did the same.
“Larissa, and us too. Just say the word, and we’ll do anything for you,” they said.
Back at the Turners, Julia had always been the center of attention, and Larissa had barely mattered.
This was the first time she’d been treated with such warmth.
Even though her heart had been broken many times, she couldn’t help but feel her eyes grow red.
No matter how much she tried to be unaffected, there was something about the bond of family that she couldn’t ignore.
Leonard, who was usually stern and serious, couldn’t keep a straight face either.
