Chapter 8 Gifts
She seemed not to care about anything.
The more indifferent Larissa was, the more Leonard wanted to give her the best.
“Larissa, don’t worry. I’ll take care of everything. Do you trust me?”

Ruby chimed in, “Larissa, I’ll also make sure everything is handled. You won’t have to suffer even a little.”
Nelson and Gavin exchanged a glance. They knew very well that getting their little sister added to the family tree would be really difficult.
Right now, the general manager of the Sowle Group was their eldest uncle. If Larissa got onto the family tree, she would get five percent of the company’s shares.
Their uncle’s family would never agree to that.
If they were easy to deal with, Leonard wouldn’t have been sent to manage the Marcrest branch.
Seeing their expressions, Larissa realized it wouldn’t be easy.
She didn’t like causing trouble for others, so she said, “Actually, it’s not that urgent. Can you give me some more time to adjust?”
After all, she might not even stay with the Sowles for long.
Hearing this, Leonard and Ruby realized they’d been pushing too hard.
Their daughter had only just come back today–everything could be taken slowly. They should give her more time to get used to things.
“Other things can wait, but school can’t. How are your grades, Larissa? What grade are you in now, and which school did you go to before?” Leonard asked, concerned.
Larissa froze.
She had just been reborn and had completely forgotten about school.
Thinking back to her past life, when she returned from Ravenmind Hospital, the Turners thought she hadn’t gone to middle or high school, so they never bothered to enroll her.
For a whole six months, she had been busy with her own things and hadn’t gone to school at all.
How was she supposed to explain that?
In this country, she only had an elementary school record.
“Do I have to go to school?” she asked.
Leonard felt a pang at her hesitant expression.

He couldn’t say all his kids‘ educations were perfect, but Isaac had graduated with a double degree from the top university, Eldercrown University.
Gavin had also been accepted to the same university.
And now, their daughter, who had been away all this time, might have already dropped out–she hadn’t even finished high school.
Ruby’s heart ached. “Larissa, no matter what happened before, we will do our best to give you the best. Honey, make sure we get Larissa into the best high school in Marcrest.”
Leonard nodded. The mood at the dinner table felt much heavier than before.
Larissa hadn’t expected she’d still end up stuck with school, so she nodded obediently.
At this age, it was normal to do what you were supposed to do.
That way, no one would think she was crazy.
After dinner, Larissa went back to her room.
She set the room temperature to the coldest setting.
Just as she was about to take a shower, someone knocked on the door.
When she opened it, Gavin was standing there, holding the latest SH laptop. He handed it to her.
“Larissa, this is a gift for you. I hope you like it.”
Larissa’s
eyes
flickered. SH was the tech company she had run for half a year.
This model of laptop costs 50 thousand dollars.
As far as she knew, her youngest brother, Gavin, was still just a college student. Yet he was so generous.
“Thank you!”
Larissa took the laptop politely and thanked him.
Gavin scratched the back of his head and gave a shy smile. “I’m glad you like it. Get some rest, and if you need anything, just let me know.”
After saying that, he left.
Larissa looked at the laptop in her hands and felt deeply moved.
The word brother wasn’t unfamiliar to her.
Jettson and Harlan, the oldest and second brothers of the Turners, were also her brothers, but ever since Julia had come into the family, they had only been Julia’s brothers. Toward Larissa, there was nothing but suspicion and misunderstanding.
So this was what it felt like to be spoiled by a brother?

Not long after she returned to her room, there was another knock at the door.
This time, when Larissa opened it, Nelson was standing there with several of SH’s newest handbags and aromatherapy candles.
“Larissa, I heard bags can brighten anyone’s day. These are from Andrew–he hopes you’ll be happy every single day. And this sandalwood candle is a welcome gift from me. Welcome home!”
Larissa froze.
Once again, they were products from her own company.
The handbags alone added up to over two million.
She knew that Andrew had just graduated and was starting his career as a celebrity.
This couldn’t possibly be all his savings, could it?
As for the sandalwood candle, it was made by the Wonder Doctor Association and cost around one million.
Was Nelson learning perfumery now?
Were they really spending all their money just to spoil me with gifts?
“Thank you!”
Nelson gave a shy smile. “Larissa, welcome home. I’m really glad you’re back! Now go get some rest.”
Larissa’s feelings grew complicated again.
A few minutes later, there was another knock at her door.
Not surprisingly, it was Russ standing there.
He held out a delicate ruby necklace. “Larissa, this is my welcome gift for you.”
Larissa took the gift. “This is far too expensive. I’m just a student. I’d never get a chance to wear it.”
The ruby necklace was SH’s crown jewel, personally designed by her, worth five million.
She suspected that Russ, too, had probably spent almost all of his money just to buy her this gift.
Russ smiled as he explained, “You can wear this when our family hosts your homecoming party. My sister can’t look too plain–if others have it, you should have it too. Welcome home, Larissa!”
Larissa went back into her room and looked at all the gifts everyone had given her. She was deeply
touched.
