Percival's icy gaze remained heavily fixed on Chloe, laced with mockery, as if he believed he had seen completely through her.
Chloe didn't bat an eye. "My time is limited, so hurry up."
Looking at her completely unruffled expression, the anger in Preston's heart finally boiled over:
"Chloe, I hope you don't regret this!"
Chloe kept a cold face, turning her head away and refusing to look at him.
Soon, the butler walked in holding two copies of the divorce agreement and the prenuptial agreement, handing them all to her.
"Mrs. Haye... Ms. Reed, please look these over and see if there are any issues."
Chloe picked up the agreement Preston had made her sign before they got married.
She already knew what it contained, but after opening it and skimming just a couple of lines, she froze.
What was going on?
Percival noticed her expression and scoffed coldly. "You signed that prenuptial agreement yourself. What problem could you possibly have with it? The Hayes family supported you for three years; walking away with nothing is exactly what you deserve!"
It was true.
Back then, she had heard with her own ears Percival telling Preston to make her sign an agreement stating that she would leave with absolutely no assets in the event of a divorce.
But why did the property division on this divorce agreement stipulate a fifty-fifty split?
Not just the shares in Vantage Corp, but even all the real estate and assets under Preston's name were divided equally.
Seeing her expression grow increasingly strange, Percival snatched the divorce agreement. Upon seeing it, his face changed drastically.
He then grabbed the prenuptial agreement. After reading the contents, his complexion became incredibly grim, and he harshly questioned the butler:
"Who drafted this agreement? Did you bring the wrong one?!"
The butler looked troubled. "Mr. Hayes, this... is indeed the one Ms. Reed signed back then."
Percival's gaze immediately shot toward Preston with ferocity.
"What exactly is going on here?!"
