Thinking of this, Chloe's gaze grew mocking as she handed the pen to him:

Preston stared fixedly at the pen she had just used, his face grim. "I can sign it, but I have one condition."

"Preston, playing games like this is just pathetic."
"Chloe, what on earth are you thinking? What do I have to lose by divorcing you? What makes you think I'd cling to you and refuse to let go?"
His tone carried undisguised sarcasm as he stared coldly at her.
"You just promised Grandma you wouldn't get a divorce. If news of this gets out right now, have you even considered her safety? After all, she has treated you with nothing but genuine kindness over the years."
Chloe said, "We can hide the divorce from her for now. I can cooperate."
Preston's tone grew colder. "Grandma is already suspicious. If she wants to, she can look up our marital status at any time."
Back and forth, the divorce was going to be delayed again.
Chloe was getting impatient. "Then what do you want to do?"
"We can sign the papers first, but we have to wait until Grandma's health recovers before we go to the Civil Affairs Bureau to finalize it," Preston said.
Chloe fell silent.
She had just over twenty days left before she went abroad. Once she left, she would basically never return unless absolutely necessary.
So, she just wanted to thoroughly sever all her ties in the country before she left.
But thinking of Grandma's sickly pale face, she truly couldn't bear to agitate her right now.
Finally, she spoke:
"Fine. But I need a specific timeline. Half a month should be enough. Adding the time it takes to process everything, Grandma's condition should be stable by then."
Preston's face grew uglier by the second, as if he were trying desperately to suppress something.
Chloe thought he was going to refuse again, but the next second, he spoke:
