The Wife He Dumped, The Queen She Returned As novel Chapter 233

Chloe didn't ask any more questions, nor did she linger.

The fifth deck wasn't quite the core restricted zone yet, so they hadn't confiscated her phone or subjected her to a pat-down. She snapped a quick photo of the two of them together and turned to leave.

When she stepped out of the suite, Thea trailed closely behind her.

Chloe glanced back. Thea froze in her tracks, her hands balled into tight fists.

"Is there something else?"

"Miss..." Thea pleaded pitifully. "Can you take me with you?"

"I..."

Thea had barely taken a step forward when a light cough echoed from a short distance away.

A shadowy figure had silently appeared at the far end of the corridor.

The instant Thea spotted him, she trembled from head to toe, ducked her head, and scurried away.

Right before she vanished, she threw Chloe one last, hopelessly desperate glance.

The waiter briskly approached, offering Chloe a polite bow.

"My apologies, miss. I hope we didn't interrupt your evening."

Chloe simply turned on her heel and walked away.

Out on the deck, two foreign men were leaning casually against the railing, smoking and chatting.

Just as she brushed past them, the name "Jenna Cameron" unexpectedly drifted into her ears.

Chloe stopped dead in her tracks.

She couldn't be entirely sure—French had plenty of similar-sounding words, after all.

"You still remember her?"

"Of course. You don't meet women as wild as her every day. She was willing to do absolutely anything..."

Their conversation grew increasingly explicit, punctuated by bursts of vulgar laughter.

Chloe narrowed her eyes and stealthily activated the hidden camera embedded in her earring.

"John actually let her slip away? He never managed to drag her back?"

"Of course he tried. But no one knows who she hooked up with next. The guy is incredibly powerful—John wouldn't dare mess with him."

"Really? Does this new guy know about her past? And he's actually fine with it?"

"Sir..."

The man's tone was dangerously flat. "Gentlemen, what happens on the upper decks stays on the upper decks. You shouldn't be discussing it down here."

"We're so sorry, sir! We didn't mean any harm! Please, give us another chance!"

Ignoring their desperate pleas, the man chuckled softly and gave an order.

"Haul them ashore, and then..."

He smirked. "Call the cops."

"No! You can't do this to us!"

The two men were sent into a complete panic, screaming recklessly as if they had nothing left to lose.

"You've committed countless crimes yourself, and you're calling the cops?! If we go down, you're coming with us!"

The man's smile vanished. It was unclear if he was speaking to them or to Chloe.

"You're welcome to try."

"If you have the evidence—or if you simply delude yourself into thinking you do—by all means, attempt to judge me."
