Ethan smiled at Chloe, his handsome face glowing with vitality.
He made a "call me" gesture, then turned and left, his steps light and confident.
Chloe withdrew her gaze, noticing that Quentin's eyes were fixed on the business card. She casually asked, "What is it? Is there a problem?"
"No," Quentin replied.
Chloe felt an indescribable sense of strangeness and couldn't help but say, "Are you sure? It looked like you wanted to say something."
Quentin lowered his eyelids, picked up a piece of foie gras, and said in a flat tone, "Let's eat."
Chloe didn't press further and focused on her meal.
However, throughout the dinner, she vaguely felt that Quentin was somewhat absent-minded.
Chloe said, "If you've already eaten, you didn't have to go out of your way to keep us company."
"It's fine," Quentin said.
"I just think that forcing yourself like this isn't good for your health, and it's a bit of a waste of food," Chloe remarked.
Quentin remained silent.
Belle finally couldn't hold it in and burst out laughing.
Quentin's expression remained indifferent, but the skin around his brow seemed to tighten for a split second.
He set down his fork, his voice so steady it carried no emotion at all. "Are you finished eating?"
"Yes, let's go," Chloe replied.
When they went to settle the bill, the host informed them that their table had already been paid for.
Quentin tapped his knuckles lightly on the counter.
Sure enough, the host said that a gentleman named Ethan had picked up the tab.
"Mr. Sinclair also left a note for you."
As the host spoke, he handed over a small card.
Quentin was a step faster than Chloe, taking the card himself.
He glanced down at it, a very faint, cold smirk touching the corners of his mouth. He then folded the card and unhurriedly slipped it into his pocket.
Chloe asked, "What's that..."
Quentin looked up at her, his expression normal. "The poetry on this is quite good. I'll take it back and study it."
