"What? You're saying Caroline Monet is a fake?!"
Quentin's declaration sent shockwaves through the crowd.
As absurd as it sounded, everyone instinctively leaned toward believing him.
After all, he had been her partner for years. No one was more qualified to verify her identity. The press immediately spun their cameras, aiming their lenses dead at Jenna.
"Miss Cameron, what do you have to say about Mr. Shaw's accusations?"
"Do you have any proof that the woman you invited is the real Caroline?"
Jenna scoffed and rolled her eyes in absolute disgust.
This was hilarious!
They were clearly just throwing a tantrum because Preston had chosen her over Chloe without a second thought. Trying to pick a fight with such a pathetic lie was just sad.
She tilted her chin up, her tone haughty. "The truth is the truth, why should I have to prove it? If anything, it seems Mr. Shaw and Ms. Reed keep trying to stir up drama at this professional event just to go viral!"
With both sides holding their ground, the atmosphere plunged into a tense deadlock.
Suddenly, one of the reporters chimed in, "But she was the one who booked Caroline Monet last time too! We didn't see her face, but everyone recognized her voice! It was definitely her!"
The others nodded in agreement, eagerly jumping on the bandwagon. "Exactly! Plus, she hasn't shown her face in years. How can Mr. Shaw be so sure it's not her?"
Seeing more and more people take her side, Jenna's arrogance swelled.
She flipped her hair, her eyes dripping with contempt. "Like I said, the fact that Mr. Shaw keeps tossing around these ridiculous accusations makes his true motives extremely suspicious!"
"I heard Caroline refused to work with him again. He's probably holding a grudge and trying to ruin her out of pure spite!"
"You're awfully quick to hurl accusations, Jenna. Talk about the pot calling the kettle black."
