I want a house with an art studio!" A wave of warmth washed over Danielle as she saw the excitement in her daughter's eyes. She knew moving would be a hassle and would disrupt their routine, but if it meant giving Niki a safe environment, it was all worth it.

The next day, Danielle was frowning at the listings on the real estate app when her phone rang. After asking Gian for some help, she now saw a call coming in from Kirsten. "I just heard from Gian that you're looking to move?" "Yeah, I am," Danielle said. "Still looking, haven't found the right place yet." "What are you looking for?" Kirsten exclaimed. "The villa next to my house is empty! It was just renovated, fully furnished, everything's new. You can just move right in. We'll be neighbors, I can help you keep an eye on Niki, and we can grab dinner or go shopping whenever. It'd be perfect."

Danielle's heart skipped a beat. The gated community where Kirsten lived had top-notch security and a quiet environment. It was undoubtedly much safer than her current apartment. But she hesitated, not wanting to impose on her friend. "Wouldn't that be too much trouble for you?" "Trouble? Don't be silly. What are friends for?" Unable to refuse such a generous offer, and driven by the urgent need for safety, Danielle finally agreed. "Okay. I'll head over now."

After hanging up, Danielle called her nanny and asked her to look after Niki. Then she grabbed her bag and drove toward Kirsten's community. As she drove into the neighborhood, she was greeted by lush greenery. The security guard carefully checked her ID before letting her through. Everything about the place felt safe.

Kirsten was already waiting at the door. Seeing Danielle get out of the car, she rushed over, took her hand, and pulled her inside. "Come on in, have a look. I guarantee you'll love it." The villa had two floors. The living room was spacious and bright, with floor-to-ceiling windows that opened onto a small garden, letting sunlight stream in to warm the floors. Upstairs were three bedrooms, one of which included a separate art studio, perfect for Niki.

Looking around, Danielle's hesitation melted away. This place was far better than where she was living, especially the security, which would finally allow her to breathe easy. Kirsten handed her a glass of juice and smiled as she watched her take it all in. "So? What do you think? Satisfied? I told you this house was perfect for you." Danielle took the juice and nodded, her voice filled with gratitude. "I am. It's more than perfect. Kirsten, I'm causing you trouble again."

"Don't say that," Kirsten said with a wave of her hand. "But you have to tell me the truth. Why the sudden move? Did something happen?" Danielle's fingers tightened around the glass. She looked down at the juice, silent for a few seconds before speaking in a low voice. "Lately… I just have this feeling that someone's watching me."

Kirsten's expression immediately darkened. "Someone's watching you? What happened? Tell me everything." Danielle took a deep breath and told Kirsten everything that had happened recently: the red dot she saw when she was drunk, the window that was open late at night, the figure that chased her in the parking garage, and the feeling of being watched that morning when she dropped Niki off at school. She spoke calmly, but she couldn't hide the fear in her eyes.

"Are you serious?" Kirsten's anger flared, and she slammed her hand on the table, shooting to her feet. "Why didn't you tell me sooner?"
