Jake’s eyes darted frequently toward the backstage area, his brow furrowed with an anxiety he couldn't hide. He was clearly unsettled by the recent disturbance but couldn't just go and investigate, leaving him to pace in place with a flicker of unease in his eyes.

Soon, his gaze fell on Danielle in the corner. As if finding an opening, he took a deep breath and walked toward her.

She deliberately emphasized “Mr. Davidson,” drawing a clear line in the sand. Her days with the Davidson family were a thing of the past; she had no connection to them anymore.

She was tired of playing games and decided to tear away his disguise.

Jake was taken aback, his expression faltering, but he pressed on. “I know Alex still has feelings for you. He’s the stubborn type, soft on the inside. He might not say it, but he cares about you more than anyone.”

He attempted to use emotion as his leverage, his tone growing more sincere. “He’s made a name for himself in the business world all these years, and he’s become a major force in the aerospace industry. Niki is so big now. Some things should just be left in the past. Ambition is one thing, but family is just as important.”

Jake looked at Danielle, a hint of desperation in his eyes. “You two clearly still care about each other, so why keep torturing yourselves like this? Why not both take a step back, give each other a chance, and give Niki a complete home?”
